Team Stripes in Casual Grey and Black

Team Stripes in Casual Grey and Black

This week I’ve been approached regarding three denim and jean launches, which is great news for my business, but maaaaan, it’s a billion degrees. And yes I know this is content for the cooler months to come, but I can’t help but think do I have to? Haha. It’s hot. And when it’s hot, you’ll find me in a casual summer dress. Every.  Single. Time.  Case in point, this awesomeness from 17 Sundays. They really do keep me in stripe heaven. The back of this dress HAS to be seen (there’s a photo below) and all in all, I’m in love. I’m wearing the Medium, though my normal size is the Large. You’ll see on the model the more relaxed…

Making a case for the “Little White Dress”

Making a case for the “Little White Dress”

I know we all LOVE our little black dresses. So easy, so simple and always so cool. But there is one hundred a case to be made for the little white dress. And I don’t even mean just in summer, either. The little white dress is becoming a must have in my wardrobe, and here’s why you should consider adding on to yours. It’s fun!  I know, that’s deep, right? Haha. But seriously, the little white dress is fresh and modern, it’s youthful and fun. If you want to mix things up from your usual, give it a try. For me, every time I slip this swishy, ASOS number on (pictured) it feels like summer. And summer feels like good times,…

Umm, what? The Palm Print Summer Dress

Umm, what? The Palm Print Summer Dress

I know team try not to die of shock. This is easily the most colour we’ve seen outfit wise in a LONG TIME. It’s not my fault, I just don’t wear much colour. I like it that way. But when I received this dress from a friend (who happens to own the brand in question) I knew it was too special to decline. Thank you, Ms Harvest.  Welcome home, Havana Palm Print Dress.  Last week, the weather continued to be hot, hot, hot. Afternoon drinks with the husband-type-person were on the cards and I wanted to be out the door asap. So, I threw it on with some heels and I was done. That’s the upside of such a statement print,…

How to turn your summer dress into a top!

How to turn your summer dress into a top!

If an item of clothing is going to live in my wardrobe, it had better be versatile. I don’t want any one trick ponies. After wearing a dress as a top the other day, I thought I’d share more about how. So, this post is about how to take that summer dress you love, and turn it into a top you can wear all year round. No sewing and still keeping it as a dress. I’m about to double your summer dress’s potential. If only I could do so as easily with creepers on the internet. Ah well. Because we all need a bit of assistance in our lives when it comes to maximising your wardrobe. Turning a dress into a top…

My first outfit post of 2017!

My first outfit post of 2017!

Welcome back, ladies and gentleman. Here we are, and it’s already the end of January. Some fashion bloggers had their first outfit posts live on New Years Day. I envy those people; I used to be organised like them. Ahhh, the good old days. But enough of that lamenting the good old days, let’s get reacquainted. How are you!? How is 2017 treating you so far?  I’m doing well if I’m honest, coming down from this blah feeling I had in 2016 took some time. But I’ve bounced back well with some sunshine and lots of visits to the beach. I took the time to focus on what the heck I needed to let go of moving into 2017 and what it…

Because glorifying obesity, that’s why.

Because glorifying obesity, that’s why.

There’s this thing that happens when you blog about plus size fashion and combine it with confidence and body positivity. People will tell you that through doing that, you are glorifying obesity. That I am waving a flag and saying hey you, you should be fat too because look how happy I am! But here’s the thing. I’m fat and I like clothes. Thanks to the internet, people let me talk to them about personal style and finding clothes that fit. Which is actually a legitimate issue once you pass the standard clothing store sizes. I do this by taking photos of myself, there’s no one else around here I could use. I am front and centre, no ambition to…

Suger + Ink Podcast Update!

Suger + Ink Podcast Update!

Oh heeey team, it’s been a while since I let you know about new episodes of our podcast, Suger + Ink. We’ve been pottering along now and racked up 11 episodes, not including our short and sweet intro episode. And can I tell you, we have learned A LOT. A lot. A loooooot. Did I say, a lot?  Since we started, I’ve upgraded my microphone and placed it in an Ikea box for better sound. Thanks Vanessa for THAT tip, what a legend. Samara has been trialing new and exciting editing stuff and all in all, we are proud of what we are doing. It’s exciting starting something new like this. I don’t know if you’ve gone out on a…

THE Grid Print dress (hello spring!)

THE Grid Print dress (hello spring!)

There are few items that have been so anticipated, the grid print dress from 17 Sundays is all kinds of a cult item already. We came, we saw it on the runway, we wanted it! Well, I certainly did. I jumped on the chance to own one and after much deliberation, I decided to order a size down from my usual size and get the medium. Ooooo, risky!  I love the slouch, I’m all about the slouch. But this dress I wanted to be short and sweet, I wanted spring chic and I knew long before it arrived that my nude shoes were the perfect match. So for those playing at home, I’m around 178cm and currently wear a 22/24 in…

The Valentina Loves Summer chambray dress!

The Valentina Loves Summer chambray dress!

Despite a (still) full wardrobe, there’s nothing I can do to resist a chambray shirt dress. Literally nothing. There has to be a rehab for that, right? Probably. Someone do some googling for me, would you? Haha. Anyway, when the PR team for new brand Valentina Loves approached me they had my number as soon as I saw this dress. Heart eyes. It’s a pretty unique cut and style as far as sleeveless shirt dresses go. It’s pretty straight through, wide at the hips with POCKETS and dual side splits. The fabric is heavier than a light-weight chambray but not as heavy as a jean denim. If that even makes sense. For me, it’s a little small (I’m wearing the…
