I know, I know, you’ve been bombarded with images and random status updates for weeks now. I went to the Gympie Music Muster, good for me. Right? Well yes. That happened and yes I’m going to document it for the blog right this very minute. You’ll have to bear with me for a bit. I’m sure you will. After all, fun stuff is fun!
And the Gympie Music Muster is lots of fun.
As a teenager, I spent many last weekends in August in the Amamoor State Forest as a volunteer. For our hockey club, with my Aunt and Uncle at the local Lions Club food van, we did all the things. We walked the firelines, got sunburnt and spent the night in tents with beans exploding on the fire. It was quite the experience, let me tell you. When I left high school I’d been there in the mud and bull dust so many times I swore I’d never go back. I was done with the Muster.
But as an adult I went back, not for the festival but again to volunteer. A group I was involved in needed the funds and an opportunity arose so we took it. It saw Mr Suger and I camped on site for 10 days up to and including the festival. I think of those 10 days I would spend maybe 5 hours at the festival the whole time. We were kept busy and when we weren’t we slept.
But this year was different. As part of the social media team for the event, we had lots to do but all of it was enjoying the festival and reporting back. I wasn’t even sure if I was that keen to go when it came down to it. But the Gympie Music Muster was everything I remembered and more. My sister Amanda Claire, her partner Matt (my BFF, let’s face it) and our cousin Kate made up the team. We camped in Poulsen’s Flat because we like to be amongst it. Apparently.
And then we did our thing and Instagrammed stuff. All. Weekend. Long.
You’ll also find pics at my personal account. And if you want even more make sure you check out (and like!) my sister Amanda Claire’s and my cousin Kate’s Instagram accounts. What can I say, we had a lot of great content to share and just couldn’t stop sharing it. Which brings me to my next point… MORE PHOTOS! Enjoy team. Have you ever been to the Muster?
Thanks to my cousin Kate Wall for the photos.

Add it! And when you come, I’ll see you there for SURE. x
Hi hi hi! Just wanted to say hello as I’m new to the area (not so new actually, I moved up from Melbourne last year) but only now trying to connect with others digitally. So a big hello!
p.s. I’m up late because I have loads of deadlines (I’m a freelance writer, just one of many talents hahaha!)
