I’m joining Jo from iCurvy this month and taking her 30 items for 30 days shop what you’ve got challenge. You’d think this would be an easy challenge for me. If you’ve read my blog, you will notice I reuse and recycle my clothes all the time. To stay in my wardrobe, my clothes have to work hard. No arguments. But narrowing it down to 30 items, including shoes eeep, was difficult. Apparently a minimalist I am not. I try, but I love stuff, especially clothes stuff.
At first I considered my usual capsule wardrobe method that I use when packing my suitcase for any length of time. Black and white with denim accents and maybe a pop of colour. But this wouldn’t work because this is the summer of colour, right? Shoooooot. So I am now challenged to put together a mix and match 30 items list that incorporates colour more often than not. And then I went and procrastinated for three weeks and find myself here, on the very last day making my final choices.
My thirty items are;

My disclaimers:
As you know I am often sent items for review on the blog. Timeframes for releases, etc. won’t allow for me to sit on these items for a month while I complete the challenge. I’m making all items received for editorial review exempt when being worn for the purpose of blog post images. And if I happen to go to dinner after, well lucky me. Haha. Mel will be providing me with an outfit to wear to accompany her to a party later this month. It’ll be on loan, so that won’t count.
Regarding my work wardrobe, I have also selected a black dress, black skirt and black pencil skirt that I will wear for work purposes only that are exempt from the list. I’m calling this my uniform; all other items will be taken from my 30 items. My work and personal styles are SO different (due to dress standards) that I think this is the only way I can make this work.
And that’s everything. Here we go folks. 30 days of only 30 items. Want to join the team? Click the button below and head over to Jo’s blog for the link party. Stay in touch with the posts for some styling inspiration. Or maybe it will be lots of same old, same old outfits… We’ll see.

ha! I love you!! I’m a big procrastinator too. I reduced my wardrobe to 40 a good couple of weeks ago, but only choose the final 30 last night!! It was so so hard.
So difficult! Who came up with this plan?! Haha. Good luck with the challenge.
I´am looking forward to you styling the denim overall dress. I couldn´t resist and bought myself one, but haven´t worn it yet. You know – too short, am too old – kind of excuses 🙂
Me too! I bought it mostly to wear over my togs this summer but I’m interested in making it work for day-to-day. It’s a little tight but fingers crossed I can make it work.
Very nice too see I wasn’t the only one that left picking my 30 items to the last minute! It was surprisingly harder than I thought too, trying to get a balance between work & casual really challenged me. And the shoes, nightmare! What you have picked sounds pretty good to me!
I was really kicking myself in the pants for that. I wanted to have a clear plan, lots of options for each item, have tried them all on and mixed and matched. But alas, I ran out of time and had to do a little winging of it. The shoooooes was SO hard. I still wish I’d been able to include 3 more pairs of shoes. Haha.
I think you have done a fabulous job of rounding up your 30 items!
Thaaaaanks! I realised I don’t really have anything overly dressy, but oh well, I might have to stay home. Watch a movie or something. Haha.
I was looking at that list and thinking WOW that amount of clothing would last me months but then I remembered I wear a uniform 5 days of the week…!
Good luck!
Haha. Yeah, lucky! The extra items for work days will help but getting 30 great outfits out of these items will be interesting and a mix and match challenge, for sure.
Great list Melissa , yep knew we have a few cross overs , great minds haha!
I find 30 items a real challenge and if I was working it would need to be 60 lol
My real style and work style have very few crossovers, look forward to seeing your amazing styling 🙂
Thank you Wendy! And yes, haha, it was bound to happen. The work disclaimers were the only way I would ever have been able to make it through. That said, today I was already rebelling against the idea of the set items. All of a sudden my other clothes just called to me. 😉
