Here’s the thing, I have this obsession with mustard the colour, and well the condiment too now that I mention it. But it doesn’t really like me back. But I keep trying and it keeps rejecting me and I keep trying… And well, you get the point.
Ordering some newness at ASOS a little while back I had the option of this dress in a couple of colours. I chose mustard because I’m a glutton for punishment. It arrived, I loved it and it as usual the bitch didn’t love me back. Haha. But I’m forcing it by using the patterned floral bomber as a bit of a buffer.
What can you do.
Sometimes if it makes you happy, you should just wear it.
Forget the rules.
In fun other news it also LOOKS like I’m pregnant or smuggling a second person under my dress when side on too. It’s cheese and wine mostly. But there’s that. My fault, I’d sized up for slouch, and luckily length, but no matter what others say about wearing over-sized I like it. So I do. After all, what are casual weekends for if not a little rule breaking.
Wearing ASOS Curve Swing Dress (similar in black or wine), Target Australia Slides and Wonderlust for The Iconic jacket (via Emma!). Sorry team, mostly old stuff this post but hey, that’s the way it goes right? We can’t have new stuff every time, what sort of Budget Fashionista would I be then. Haha.

Mustard is one of those glorious but difficult colours, isn’t it?
With swing dresses, I have the same issue with the way they hang from my bust – hello masses of extra fabric! I’ve found that a cropped waist-length cardigan works wonders for improving the shape, without losing the comfy slouchy fullness of the skirt.
It’s a tricky sucker that mustard. But it’s just SO gorgeous. Hard to resist. Haha.
And yup, same problem with swing dresses. Thanks for the tip!
