Post brought to you by Harlow Australia
The other weekend while the ladies were at my house we styled a photo shoot using the new season Harlow range. I’m pretty sure it was only a couple of weeks ago but it feels like forever. We took those photos for Harlow at a local car park using a tripod and a flash. They worked out well and I love the fun, easy feel of all the ladies in those photos. When we returned to my house Liv and I did a little costume change and lined up out the back for a second outfit pic.
More monochrome awesome. This time Hubby was back in charge of the camera {between babysitting AND BBQ duties} and we sipped a little more wine between photos, fiddled with knotting of shirts and realised that it was getting pretty late and we were starving! The end result you will love. I do. The simple outfits are the sort of thing you could wear to work, to dinner or out on the town if you made some adjustments. Monochrome is a bit like that, easy to wear anywhere. Check it out.
My outfit consisted of the maxi skirt ALL the ladies adore {I’m wearing Mel’s} with the blouse from the last post tucked into the skirt loosely at the back. Short and sweet was the aim, to show of the shape of the skirt as it wraps around my butt, hips and legs. Perfection. Add a rope necklace and my all time favourite ankle strap wedges and I’m ready to roll. Keep it simple ladies, sometimes simple is the best. And for future reference, that’s shadowing on my feet, not some horrific fake tanning accident. Haha. Now let’s check out what Liv was wearing.
Liv’s outfit is a wee bit of a deviation from her usual bright and bubble style. The pencil skirt with a knotted or sheer top is something she wears often so this skirt will get it’s time in the sun more than once, I think. The knotting of the shirt was a community effort with each of us giving tying it a go to sit the knot at just the right height. Too high or too low just didn’t work. It had to be just right. She makes it her own with this killer necklace that just screams look at me! Looooook NOW. Seriously in person this necklace is an absolute show stopper. Unfortunately you’ll need to ask HER where it’s from because I forgot to, lucky she has a blog you can visit and do just that, right? Head over to Wait Until the Sunset for more on Liv.

That maxi skirt is super flattering. It looks great!
I love the maxi trend, it looks incredibly comfy and such an easy way to look good fast. Unfortunately, I am yet to find a maxi that doesn’t make me look even shorter and frumpier.
It’s a killer skirt. To make it work for you {shorties. HA} try a heeled boot or wedges, it’ll give you more height and either wear it floor length or above the ankle for the same reason. Elongates…
