If you are out and about in the plus-size world then you will have seen the release yesterday of the new season range from 17 Sundays. Afterglow AW14. It’s hot, short version. I’m like a 17 Sundays brand whore, so I was all over that. I almost didn’t share it here given it’s been covered by almost every plus blogger known to woman. BUT then I thought I bet you’re all a little curious about what I’m loving in the range and HOW I plan to wear it, right?
Well I hope so otherwise this post is going to suck for you just quietly. But first, some of my favourite shots from the Lookbook jammed together in one Pinterest worthy collage. You’re welcome. Then below three pieces and how I’LL be wearing them in the coming months. It’s like a steal her style post before I’ve even got my hands on any of the items myself. Win!
And now let’s talk about who I’ll be wearing some of my favourite pieces from the collection. A small selection of my favourites which could pretty much be counted as ALL of the collection. All the pretties. And as you know the brand is always generous with me so I’ll get the chance to try them out, give them a whirl and report back to you lovely ladies shortly. Especially since I’m headed to Melbourne at the end of next month and plan to pillage the warehouse. Go me. Until then, let’s image shall we?
This t-shirt is one of the first items on my list. This is like the band tee of the collection, the Afterglow Tee. Very cool, made of the silky modal that is all kinds of dreamy {do you have one of the BASIC tops in that yet? Get one and prepare to live in it}. Anywaaaay. This top I plan to wear in a few ways, I made a list! I haven’t gone this overboard with ALL of the items, just this one. Sooooo many options.
- Worn with my sequin skirt and ankle boots for a dressed up/dress down thing.
- Worn with killer heels and my last season Ox-Blood 17 leggings and add more big hair. Win.
- Worn tucked {up to the L} into a long line pencil skirt {probably black} with my wedges and big bun.
- Worn over denim shorts with wedges to grab the last of the warmer days, throw on a long knit cardigan when it gets cooler.
- Etc etc {OMG, this list goes on, don’t you think?}
Be still my beating heart. Sports Luxe fans get excited, these babies will be a go to item for the coming cooler months. I don’t care if your ankles DO freeze where you are, suck it up princess, the jersey slub pant is going to be essential. for me anyway. Worn casually with some platforms, a tucked slouch t-shirt {too matchy matchy to wear the one above, probably not!} and wild crazy hair. Then I’d dress them up very similar to how they are shown on the site with heels, a tailored jacket and a more well fitted but still blousey top. Or heck, wear them around the house when you want to feel fancy but comfy. Hello school run!
Last but by no means LEAST the Fly or Die Knit Dress. This beauty calls to the stripe lover in me. This beauty looks soft and feminine and oh so seventies cool. You did hear the seventies are coming back, right? Well they are. Be ready. I’m already scouring the interwebs for a pair of navy boots and/or heels to pair this with one. I KNOW my nude ankle boots will work perfectly. So will denim or leather jackets. Anyone have a leather jacket in a cropped style, a creamy coloured leather? THAT would be perfect with this. Tan too, I think. Delicious. Pair with easy sandals to keep it casual, ankle boots to make it funky and some nude heels to dress it up. The rest will be in the perfect blow-wave and glowy make-up. Let the dress talk, right?

This lookbook just *speaks* to me! Haha. I need the bird print skirt, need it!
Oh I get that SO much. When I first saw the range they asked for feedback and I was like ummm, I love it, ALL of it, SO much. It’s gorgeous.
I want everything from the lookbook! Wah! Your outfits sounds awesome- can’t wait to see you in them beautiful lady!
Haha. Save your pennies dude. Otherwise I’ll see you at the give-away bright and early next week. 😉 And thank you. I’ll have loads of great stuff to be able to wear to the meet-up in May. I’ll bring extra for you to try if you like? Like a pop up shop that doesn’t sell stuff. 😛
I’ll be keeping my eye out for goodies! And I’d love to try things on! Bring me your whole wardrobe!!
Do! For sure. And sure thing, I’ll be sure to pack up anything I think you might be interested in come May. 😀
The tee in black and gold foil is on my list, as is the print skirt. BRING ON MELBOURNE
Nice choices! I’ll be interested to try that skirt on and see how it looks on me. Love the volume of it. Yes indeed, bring it Melbourne.
Wow Melissa I love your selections… Actually I love the whole lookbook. Compiling my list of wants/ needs too lol
Thaaaaanks Wendy! I HEAR YOU. I also love the printed blazer and dress, the darker dress etc coming later and the black cut out looking stuff {also coming later}. Mine is going to be a lengthy list. As usual, I love it. ALL.
