Aussie Curves: Double Take

Doubkle take week, huh? Well this very nearly turned into a triple take {at least!}. I wear this black bodycon dress I picked up last winter from the team at 17 Sundays BASIC all the time. Layered mostly. Throw on a shrug. Tucked under skirts {short or long} like in this older post. And sometimes on the rare occasion I wear it on its own as a woot woo dress that is both simple and effective.

Multi use items are essential in my wardrobe. I don’t like items that you can only wear once. It annoys me. Like, what are you doing just HANGING there you lazy sod of a dress, match something! So my tip is to never take something home that you can’t imagine wearing with three things you ALREADY own. Or in three different ways, at least. Anything else is a waste of space. Leave it. Come back if you get to three.

For today’s post I left it plain, with wedges and some bling for a night out on the town and with a casual maxi for a lazy sunday lunch. Easy peasy.

I love the first outfit so much. I can totally see myself wearing it (so it must mean you have exquisite taste, har har!)

    1. Ha. I’m sure that is EXACTLY what that means. Thanks Alexandra.

  2. it’s very much a woot woo dress – looking sexy lady!

  3. woot woo indeed, Suger :)

    1. Haha. Bodycon, gets them every time. :P

  4. “It annoys me. Like, what are you doing just HANGING there you lazy sod of a dress, match something!” Haha! I love your writing! Smashing outfits too!!

    1. Thanks Sophie, sometimes I wonder if people even read the writing any more. LOVE the quote comment. Such a writing win. You can stay. :P x

  5. Snap! I did a body con post too! i confess I got carried away and shared 6 different looks!

Sadly my body con doesn’t look good on it’s own! I am still hunting for one that does. I am learning (through you and Jo from iCurvy) to start making sure I have items that are more versatile and able to be worn in multiple ways. It is actually amazing how you can pop a dress under a skirt and have a different look. Not just a pretty face, you clever chooks!

    1. I saw that! Awesome. {Still getting around to visit everyone properly, it’s on my list!}. I think it’s important to have variety with less items in a wardrobe or you’ll just be buying more and more new stuff all the time. Stuff you don’t need. Stuff that doesn’t work.

  6. Bam! You do double take so well, it’s something I’ve always loved about your style, the ability to see the possibility of wearing something different ways. Also very in love with that braided necklace!

    1. Thaaaaanks Nat! It’s important to me because I’m a tight ass. HA. An item of clothing in my wardrobe has to work its butt off to stay. Simple as that.

This may be a weird question….but how do you get yours legs looking so polished and lovely? :) great post btw :)xxx

    1. Thanks!

And haha, a little weird I guess but they do look mighty shiny here so fair enough I say. I bath using a baby bath soak whenever I do and only ever shave with a shaving gel and sharp razor. That’s about it. I don’t moisturise if I can avoid it {too slippery and sticky in the heat} but I spray an aloe vera spray {after sun} if they get dry.
