Quick question… #nnb2011

It is okay to ask for sponsorship for travel & accommodation for #nnb2011 when I can comfortably afford to pay my own way? Or is it greedy when others may not attend without it. But then it is an opportunity for a brand to get the Suger Coat It advantage… Hate them to miss out on that. Because let’s face it, I would be a super star ambassador. Heehee.
See. Around and around I go. I was going to post this on Twitter so I could get your thoughts. But tonight, Twitter hates me. And no one on facebook cares. So yes. Just you and me. Just the way it started.
Help me out. Ok. Thoughts..?

  3. I say go for it! You would make an awesome ambassador. See you in Melbourne :)

  4. I don't think theres anything wrong with it.

  5. Thems that asks, gets.:-)Pearl

  6. Definitely go for it :-)

  7. So it seems the general answer is go for it. :)Just seeing if I can comment now.

  8. Definitely go for it. Sponsorship is a legitimate marketing communications tool – they won't say yes if they don't perceive value. And if you're providing that value then it's win-win! If you don't ask you don't get…

  9. That is a quandry indeed. Perhaps you could ask for sponsorship for one and not the other, eg. cover your own accomodation but ask for travel costs. That said, there is nothing unethical in just asking to be sponsored in return for promoting a brand, regardless of whether you can afford to go to a con or not. Free product instead of asking for con-related costs perhaps.
