Yuki and her family are Japanese. And this past few weeks I have worried and stressed about my daughter, so far away. Potentially in harm’s way given her imminent move into the danger zone to attend Uni. She kept in touch. She and her family are safe and well. They are scared. Afraid of what is next. Devastated by the loss of life. The heartbreak of their countrymen.
I begged her to come visit. Bring your family I said, after the second reactor explosion. You can stay as long as you like {Though the Visa people may have some questions}. Come home to your Aussie Mum. But no. They will do their bit to rebuild their country, their economy and their confidence.
Pray for Japan. It is her only request.
And so, as her Mother, asking you is the least I can do.
