My girl #PrayForJapan

I got to be a mother once. It was for a short while. She came to us from a home situation that wasn’t working. A host family home. We offered to take her into ours until a new home could be found for her. After a week we couldn’t let her go. The day we asked her to stay, she cried. The weekend, nine months later, that we put her on a plane home, we all cried.

Yuki and her family are Japanese. And this past few weeks I have worried and stressed about my daughter, so far away. Potentially in harm’s way given her imminent move into the danger zone to attend Uni. She kept in touch. She and her family are safe and well. They are scared. Afraid of what is next. Devastated by the loss of life. The heartbreak of their countrymen.

I begged her to come visit. Bring your family I said, after the second reactor explosion. You can stay as long as you like {Though the Visa people may have some questions}. Come home to your Aussie Mum. But no. They will do their bit to rebuild their country, their economy and their confidence.

Pray for Japan. It is her only request.
And so, as her Mother, asking you is the least I can do.

  8. I feel so helpless watching what has happened to Japan. The situation is just so heart breaking to imagine all the devastation and its aftermath on so many families in Japan.I hope that Yuki and her family are safe and prays for all those living in Japan…. I have a few old classmates in Japan and it was hard to think of how they were doing. They are all well and mostly living in and around Tokyo. They are scared but they life must go on.
