Gone Fishing… No Way, Gone Shopping!

I don’t shop often. I used to love it. When I was a standard size and had nothing but disposable income. These days it is a little different. With mortgages and phone bills the size of mortgages and all the trimmings of being a grown up, I find spare shopping dollars a little few and far between. So when I do shop, I go where the bargains are… Online.

And my first stop is usually eBay. I’m a traditionalist apparently. I have had my eBay account for almost 10 years. Same user. I think that makes me senior management material. Someone write eBay a letter. I have my favourite seller’s flagged. I buy everything from shoes through to paintings. But you knew this about eBay already. Let me tell you a little story about finding things you’ve search for and nobody has.

Christmas last year my mother asked me what I wanted for a gift. I told her I had seen this new bag. On a billboard. And I loved the colour. I didn’t even care which shape of the range I got it in. I just wanted the colour. And so the search commenced. It was nowhere. And my mother, well she is a serious shopper. She had looked everywhere. And when all else failed. We went were all desperado’s go in search of the holy grail.

Ebay.

We searched colbolt blue guess bag. And there it was. The only one being offered for international post even. It wasn’t cheap. It was virtually retail once you added postage. But I didn’t care. Mum didn’t care (I was the last on her shopping list). And when it arrived it was perfect. And then it was gone to be wrapped and placed securely under the Christmas tree. Isn’t she a beauty.

So the other week I signed up for Nuffnag. I followed a link from a blog I like. You see, they had these cool ads on their page and mine were all Google liners or nothing interesting at all. So I signed up. I got my first advertiser. They lasted a week. Sigh. But I was hooked. Nuffnag. Join immediately and tell them I sent you. If they ask. Tell them, anyway this post was inspired by the Nuffnag September Blogger Challenge. The prize? $250 cash. Oh gosh. Gimme gimme.
