Aussie Curves: Time Saver {She Wore What}

Time saver week for Aussie Curves meant one thing for me, what do I wear when I need to get out the door fast. There could only be one outfit for today and that’s the maxi dress. The more stripes the better I think. I throw them on, loop around a belt or throw on a necklace and I’m done. It’s an outfit in one basically. Now THAT’S a timesaver.

So is wearing virtually no makeup, hiding behind some sunnies and plaiting my hair while it’s still wet. All shown here and modelled beautifully in the state forest on the way to Tin Can Bay yesterday afternoon to visit a family friend who is in care there. It was a beautiful afternoon as the sun set. Country road take me home indeed.

We had a great visit and then on the way home we decided to grab a fresh seafood, seafood basket from one of the local shops. And it was amazing. Even eating it in the dark with teenagers loitering nearby complaining about teenage things as they paced around talking on their mobile phone. It was a great, low-key night and with the addition of a simple black hoodie I was set when it got cold. Done!

  1. I would have been disappointed if you weren’t wearing stripes! :-) Great dress, classic and cool, just like you!

    Can I ask, do you wear something – like a smoothing slip – under these sort of dresses? I find that this fabric seems to cling to all of my lumpy bits…but I have to say you looks AWESOME! (I have the same dress I think, or similar in black, which I haven’t been game to wear yet (lumpy bit issue). Love to hear your advice.

      Thank you. Happy to answer! I don’t wear a slip or anything but I do make sure I have a well fitted full brief on as underwear. I think if your underwear fits properly it just smooths you out. Target have some great ones, the Aleo Vera ones? So my advice is buy up a size in the dress if you’re worried {this is an XL and I’m normally more of a L at Virtu} and make sure your underwear fits. Good luck!

    Sooooo many stripes!! I LOVE IT! Also talk about country, the first thing that catches my eye and makes me realise I am almost home is those trees! I love that homey feeling I get (you know the warm fuzzy one I’m talking about) when I get to those tress at the Sunny Coast and it brings back my childhood memories of bush bashing around Tuan Forrest…ahhh the good old days!!!

      Thank you Sophie. That they are!

  7. I have those exact same shoes…and I’m so sad as they are dying (I bought two pairs and my second pair is the dying pair). I LOVE a maxi dress…and I love your belt. If you ever need to rehome it I’d look after it well. Honest!

  14. That dress is all kinds of awesome on you! I don’t normally plait my hair. Might be inspired and give it a go.

      Thank you. The plait works out well for me, when it dries I can shake it out and it’s all wavy and just the way I like it. Work the plait lady. It rocks.
