Show Him Some Sugar.

I’ve decided that in February I am going to do one thing every single day that will demonstrate to my husband how much I looooooove him. It’s a sort of tight ass Valentine’s gift. A big gesture to make up for the lean and mean savings period we are in at the moment. But mostly it’s to tell him sure, we met 10 years ago, but I still think you’re a spunk and all round great guy. I wanted to make this month a little more about him and a little less about me.

Fifty bucks says our dates will still involve outfit photos though.

I’m not going to share them all here, I might share some as I go. I just don’t want it to turn into a big blog thing that I have to worry myself over. I want it to be a bit organic and special. I know you guys can understand that. But I will be via Instagram {and via it to Facebook, Flickr and Twitter} under the hash tag #SugerSweetHearts. Join me if you like. There’s no set plan, each day I’m going to be thoughtful and spontaneous. I’ve pinned some stuff, go there for inspiration if you would like to. If you have a post or a link to something you think would be cool, leave it in the comments and I’ll add it to the board.

It’s time to get loooooved up. Wish me luck!

Don’t think you need luck sweetheart, think you should nail this one with ease! It’s nice when long term relationships are still so loved up – I think it shocks some people when they see couples who have been together for awhile all affectionate and loving!

It sounds like a brilliant idea and I think I might join you, if that’s ok? LOL

Thanks Rach, it does. I had someone tell me the other day that it’d be different if we had kids. I gave them a few choice words about that being a cop out and offensive given they know our situation. Relationships take work and challenges come in all different disguises {hello infertility!}. Anyways, rant over. Love that you and Gov are the same. So cuuuute.

      DO. Please do.

You know I’ve had someone say the same thing to me too and I’ve thought about it and I actually think NOT having kids is harder, they aren’t there to serve as a distraction. When Guv and I are home, it’s just us, the focus is constantly on us two, no distractions, just one on one and it’s been that way now for 13 years, I think, to some extent, that that is harder to maintain than if kids were in the mix and were providing a distraction from each other. x

Hopefully one day, we will both know both sides of the story and can revisit this. THEN we can tell them!

  2. Ooh I’m doing something similar. Not sure if I’ll last all month but I’m doing it up until Valentines Day. I set up Step 1 a couple of days ago, will take some snaps and IG it when the clingy toddler goes to bed. :)

Thank you. I’m sure I’ll manage something, some days it’ll probably only make sense to us. ;)

  4. Love this idea. I would so do something like this if my husband had a romantic bone in his body. Instead, I bestow it all on my kids and my home decorating LOL. I do have a Pinterest board that I’d been collecting Valentines Day things if you want to steal some pins – http://pinterest.com/BboysFlygirl/all-you-need-is-love/

Love this! Do you decorate for Valentines? That’s so cool. Can’t wait to check out your board.

      1. Yep I do decorate for Valentines. I’m one of those retentive types that changes their entrance way depending on seasons/events much to my husbands disgust. LOL

No way!! That’s COOL. I have a bookshelf near the door I’ve always considered doing the same thing. I might just do it this year as one of the daily things. GREAT.

  5. Awww, sweet idea :) Make sure you share some outfit photos though!
