A Kinda 80’s Maxi Moment {She Wore What}

You guys know about my Saturdays, right? Get up, get dressed, go to a local cafe and write some stuff. Drink too many coffee’s over ice and come home when my battery dies or I really badly need to pee, whichever comes first. This is what I wore out the weekend before last. I love maxi dresses and skirts for this type of outing, they’re just so easy to manage and comfortable. Sometimes shopping centres are cold, so I always layer. And sometimes it’s been a day or two since I washed my hair {hello messy knot}.

Such is life, right?

It wasn’t until Hubby took these photos that I realised with the slight slip of the pink top off the shoulder, combined with the knotted front that I looked very maxi dress version of the let’s get physical music video without the headband or butt Lycra  I considered ditching the whole thing but I was running late anyway so thought stuff it. I’ll just tell people I’m being ironic if they ask.

No one asked.

What do you wear for a casual outing at the shops?

Maxi Dress – ASOS Curve
Top – Lily & Lou for Best & Less
Flip Flops – KMart
Sugar Coated Necklace – Virtu {gifted}

  1. Running late and not having enough time to do a rethink on an outfit has served you well the watermelon coloured tee over the maxi is a great little combo. A great risk that ended well. X

      Thanks Mandie. The maxi is so great for summer, it’s counter intuitive with all that material. But it works. Haha.

      1. Breezy :) Plus it’s great for when you don’t have time to shave your legs!!

    LOVE this outfit! Never thought of doing the knot under the boozies, love. I don’t do the maxi, but I need too. I’m a shortie, those beads are all kinds of awesome! Casual for me are comfortable cottons, white is what I’m thinking – it is so freakin HOT here today.

      Thanks! The knot was a bit of an add on because the shirts too big. I even almost had a bit of midrift out the other day thanks to the knot. Now THAT was a bit of a moment. Haha. Love white, I’m still looking for the perfect pair of white jeans or skinny pants.

        I tried these, the new cut is too small for me even in the 22. Sigh. But worth a look, cheap and cheerful and a decent material weight from memory.
