Melting

This is NOT Queensland. But it’s lovely anyway. 
Queensland has the memo. Loud and clear. It’s almost Summer. It must have said. Start baking them. Start now. The funniest part is, when I left Sydney Monday last week, it was 37 degrees. Brisbane was 27 that day. The following day here was 35+. I think I brought it with me.
I’m like, the Summer Whisperer. 
Not that I usually mind. Our house, the office and my car are air conditioned. My wardrobe is light and tailored to the conditions here. I’m as prepared as you can be for humid, sticky weather. I prefer to bucket loads to the still, dry heat of central Queensland. That’s for darn sure. 
When I WAS in central Queensland I would sleep late, do my chores and errands during the middle of the day {air con, hello!} and spend the afternoons by the pool {inflatable or town, either was fine}. Evenings and the cool or the sun going down were saved for visitors and fun stuff. Evenings were for studying etc.It’s hard to fit stuff in when you’re so freakin’ hot.   
OMG. See what happened there. I go a little off track. I was just doing a short post about the weather today. And here we are. That’s the problem with Summer. It feeeeeels like holidays. Like long days spent relaxing, eating watermelon and sleeping. It’s like I said in today’s FIRST EVER NEWSLETTER. I’m a Summer kid. It makes me happy. But lazy. 
Short version, it’s hot here today. I’m meeeeelting.

    I'm not ready for summer. I'm never ready for summer. I hate summer. Sunshine is okay, I like sunshine, but not heat, give me 25 degrees and I'm happy. Bump it up a notch or three and I'm miserable. Over 30? Forget it, I'm dead….

    I hate summer, full stop. Give me enough money and I shall Buy myself a 'summer' home in Canada, or Alaska, and move between hemisphere's.Watermelon! :D

    Boo to the rest of your commenters so far – I love summer! However, what i dont love is the humidity. Thankfully, i live in central west NSW where the mid-summer temperatures are usually above 36c ( you get half a dozen days in the middle of january where it can be up to 45-46C ) and its dry, dry heat. I cannot stand feeling sticky!

    I think I'd rather have the dry heat than the sweaty Brissie heat. We were in Emerald for a year and it didn't seem so hot when it was dry.Of course, here on top of the hill it is perfect! 30C, with a nice breeze, not muggy or sweaty, and cool overnight for great sleep. Sorry. I shouldn't brag! I sound like an ad!

    I prefer dry heat to humidity. I hate melting! I do my cleaning in the mornings, and then we spend from 10:30-3:00 inside in the air con, before going to the pool in the afternoons. Humidity never stops!

    Melissa, I seriously don't know how you Queenslanders (and Northern Territorians, for that matter) put up with the humidity. Dry heat isn't ideal, but humid heat is UNBEARABLE. At least dry heat is somewhat tolerable.Here in WA we get a dry heat, and thankfully in my city we get a beautiful early sea breeze by early to mid afternoon. On humid days I go troppo (can't concentrate, am irritable, etc). I take my hat off to you QLDers!
