no it shouldn't have been spammed. i have NO issue with people disagreeing with me on my blog – my only rule is that they have to put their name to their comment, whether the comment is positive or negative. i'm a huge fan of people owning their thoughts and words, if you want to say it, fine say it but put your name to it!differing opinions make the world go round, the key is that you must disagree with respect, enter into debate, have an argument even but do it without letting it get personal.you did the right thing moving the comment from spam because it wasn't ;-)~x~

Not spam at all. You're right to publish it. There is no need to hide a comment that disagrees with you. You don't have to respond if you don't wish, but I agree it should go up there.I've never understood why people feel the need to announce when they're going to unfollow though?

never filter out 'bad' comments. I sometimes enjoy reading other peoples comments and my own comment is often a reflection of that….. If I had seen it, i may have responded with something along the lines of, 'I have no idea why everyone is so hateful about paid blog ads'…. seriously, it's annoying! Especially when you see shop blogs that are 'ad free' but are obviously selling their own products (isn't that advertising?) and they chat about their friends products…. I know that it's not technically 'paid' advertising but it's really splitting hairs. I did similar things as a marketing coordinator …… in my opinion: it's advertising!' See……. other peoples comments can cause a stir and causing a stir gets more readers and the more readers that you get, the more people look at your advertising. lol! :)………………….. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm….. did my ranting make any sense? :)

I went back and read the comment, it doesn't look like spam to me, (spam is pink and comes in a tin…). I think comments should only get spammed if they're really offensive or abusive toward the blogger on a personal level. I don't think I've activated the spam filter on my blog.I won't be buying the book though.

I think every blogger is entitled to decide which comments they let through, it's your publishing space. But that's different to spam, which is usually just trying to get a link.It sounds like your filter's out a bit, there is quite a bit of nasty spam or ones that say they're unfollowing. I find it sad, not because nasty spam upsets me, but because the people writing the bots obviously think this is more likely to be accepted as a 'real' comment, which says something really bad about the internet community.Personally I don't mind healthy disagreement, but there are a lot of derogatory or abusive comments out there.

you pose a good question. I love comments no matter what they are… anything traffic I get makes me happy in my happy place :-)I figure, whatever extra is written on your page, the better chance you have on Google hitting your site with extra keywords.Plus! An ignorant fool can increase your comment replies with others responding to them about how wrong they are, hence more comments and more return visits!

i think as long as the comment is respectful then it should be published. even if it's not agreeing.

Different opinions is what makes for good conversation! Definitely not spam.

It's weird this commenting thing. For me, if I don't like what your post is saying but I have an opinion to say, I say it. If you are reviewing products that doesn't appeal to me, I skip the comment section but I come back to check. Doesn't mean I'm just going to flutter away. One thing that I do wish I can have though is a Reply Me plugin for everyone so I can interact with the answers to my comments!
