#SugarFreeSuger Update

I feel like it is time for an update. The crazy part is, it just seems like life now. A Freddo arrived in the post with a delivery today. I said Ooooo, Freddo. Who wants it!? And that was it. I ate a piece or two of regular chocolate the other day and left it at that. I don’t feel like it anymore. I don’t want it.
It has been over {?} a month now since I decided one Monday night to go Sugar free. I have lost well over 7kg. All of the 6kg I’d put on since quitting my job. I feel good. I looked at a photo of myself just those few short weeks ago and I can see the difference. Mostly, I can FEEL the difference.
There are two bloggy friends in particular who have been super awesome getting me to here. Taryn from This is Taryn is heading into her second month of Sugar Free living. And loving it {her post today is all about it!}, you’ll see her recipes here a lot. I have tagged TWO more of her muffin recipes. It’s called breakfast people! I think you are going to see many, many more of her recipes.
And then there is Luke & Talia from The Climbing Tree have been Sugar Free since January. Talia in particular has been a great support for me. She was oh so nice while I was withdrawing and sent me as many links as I asked for. I’ll be grateful for that forever. Really, she was the one that said go for it that fateful Monday night on twitter. Thanks for the small push, I appreciate it!! LOTS.
But mostly, I really, truly wish I could explain how remarkable it is to feel satisfied. To eat until I’ve had enough and that’s it. To eat regularly, without guilt. I guess for some this comes naturally. They never gave much thought to what to eat and when. I was never one of those people. I remember structuring and planning and measuring my food in early primary school.
So what living Sugar Free has given me is the opportunity to know myself. Listen to what I want when I want it.   And I believe the freedom from Fructose controlled cravings and hunger gave me that. And some determination and resolve in the first place.
Sugar Free living, turns out, not that hard! Are you Sugar Free and blogging about it? Make sure you let me know. I want to check out your story too.

  3. So are you on a sugar free diet or is it technically a fructose free or FODMAPS diet? Have you cut wheat out aswell. It gets hard sometimes but it's definitely worth it in the long run.

  4. Joey, Fructose free. I still eat wheat on occasion but not often anymore. I just don't feel like it. Based on the Sweet Poison book by David Gillespe. Really the Sugar Free Suger label was just too catchy to pass up. Haha. :D
