Reporting Live from my Couch

So, first day working full time again. And I was silly enough to book a family dinner in tonight where i said I would cook. The belated birthday celebration for Dad’s birthday. Surprisingly it all went really well. I fell into step at the new office really quickly and the work was within the stuff I knew how to do. Phew! I was nervous, let me tell YOU.
The two week expiry date didn’t hurt either!
But I miss my blog. Badly. I miss being able to just open it up and look at it. Haha. That always happens after a makeover. Promise. I miss opening and starting post after post and leaving them to be discovered another day. I miss the freedom to write when the urge takes me.
And I miss tweeting and facebooking all day long. Sharing links and little moments in my day. It’s strange really how quickly I slipped into a routine since leaving work. Wake up late, coffee and time online and plenty of time to myself to shop, cook and create. I have created a little world of wonderful for myself.
It’s not that this temporary job will take it away from me. It’s given me the realisation that life is pretty darn awesome for me. And how lucky I am. And grateful. And so darn happy. I wish the same for you. Everyday. You know. A life that wakes you up and has you smile.
So tell me. What is your favourite part of your whole day? Would you describe it for me?
And how badly do you love your blog?

  1. My favourite part of a working day is when i pick Flynn up – 99% of the time i get a "Mummmmmmmmy! " and a huge hug. ( The other 1% he's chucking a tantrum ).My favourite part of a non-working day is having a shower. I know it sounds weird but that might be the only time i get to myself for the day, so i try to enjoy the five mins spent in the hot water….

  3. My favourite part of my day always involves bed haha either snuggling in under the covers at night, preferably cuddled up next to my man. But on nice sunny days, I actually really enjoy waking up. One whole side of my room is made up of glass sliding doors and on fine sunny days the sunshine just streams through the cracks of the blinds filling my room with light and it always makes me feel confident that the day is going to be a good day, it just makes me happy. Sometimes I just lie in my bed and enjoy it for a minute before I get up :)

  4. For me, I absolutely love waking up and seeing my dog's face. She's an energetic little thing and knowing that there is someone who is super super excited to see me will bring a smile to my face, regardless of my mood. As for my blog, I very much write for myself and having people read it is just a bonus. It is definitely my outlet to working through my thoughts, or documenting my life. I think I'd melt down if I didn't have somewhere to share it all! I totally understand how you feel when you say you miss it!

  5. I'd have to say my favourite part in nap time for campbell. I lvoe my time with him but its the only time i get anything done. plus i get online time :)

  6. I loved this post, it really struck a chord. I've been sort of kinda maybe probably not thinking about going back to work & I know just how bittersweet it till be to leave my cosy domesticity & embrace all the possibilitys of a shiny grown up world. yeah, just talked myself out of it!x
