I went to lunch with my Mum, aunt and my mum’s friend. We went to the place where they make their ice cubes into stars. Which is fun. But I like lots of ice, and given the effort they go to to make the ice cube stars, they get a bit stingy with them. Not that I blame them. But it’s probably the one down side of the whole place. In my opinion. Any way.
At lunch I recounted tales from daytime TV {which I have on constantly some days, others I enjoy the silence of my house} and of my sick obsession with shows like Pawn Stars and Operation Repo. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I recounted tale after tale. We all laughed. Lunch was had. All was well in the world.
We were preparing to leave and I said something like ‘Well, I don’t know, it looks like a visitor badge or something’. In response to a question, obviously, I don’t just randomly say such things. It’s like the raffle. Said my Aunt in response.
Errr, what is like the raffle? I said thinking that she might be randomly saying things. You not knowing and saying you don’t know. There’s a raffle at bowls at the moment and all the ladies were wondering what it was. Oh and they don’t know? I asked. It seems like a silly raffle if no one can work out what the prize is.
It’s a small, portable BBQ, my Aunt said. Like a Webber Q {not sponsored!}. Ohhh, they’re cute. I said, handy too. Or so I hear. We all nodded. Yes, we had all heard they were quite useful. Picnics, camping etc.
Yeah it’s all those thing, said my Aunt rolling her eyes, the problem is one of the ladies was telling the others that she knew what it was. I don’t know why she just didn’t admit that she really didn’t know. But then again, she was quite sure. Certain in fact. So very certain that…
She had convinced the others it was a laptop.
And I lost it. I laughed so hard and loud the whole restaurant looked around and my mum shoved me out the front door and out of there. Thanks I was wondering what I was going to blog about today I shouted as I got in to my car.
