Hahaha I will admit when I chucked in my old job and "settled" for this one I got those reactions too. Now that they see how relaxed and focused on life I am its worth it.I honestly can't imagine you being as brilliant as you have been of late whilst still under the pressure of your old job…

My man gets this a lot…he has worked very hard for a very long time and he's paying for it now! So, he is taking a break and has no job, no government assistance and no plan to find a job anytime soon. I wish he didn't have to explain himself to people all the time, it's not really any of their business anyway! You work for yourself Miss Suger, as a blogger who gets to receive cool stuff in the mail, like clothes (and gun soaps :P) and you are not doing it tough. Hell, you're going to Italy for a few months.Screw them, they're just jealous. Jealous because most of them are stuck in jobs they don't enjoy or are not following their passion. And you having the courage to choose to be happy makes them feel weak for not having the same courage, so they try to make you feel insecure about your decision. You'll show 'em! ;)

Oh and also, I don't think people realise how ugly that face makes them look. Seriously. No one can pull that expression off.So next time just have a little giggle to yourself about how ridiculous they look when they pull that face ;)

Oh I think I know that look! It's kind of like the one you get when you quit your degree (err I mean take indefinite leave) three quarters of the way through ;)

Your job is being awesome!

I think it's the same look I get when I saw we have 5 kids all under 6!

I thought you had a job designing websites for people. And entertaining all of us with your blog stories. Of course, we don't pay you….

Boy, do I ever know that look! My hubby lost his job a couple of years ago and decided to go back and finish his degree. We get that look every time someone finds out that I work full time while he goes to school and stays home with the kids. But, it works for us!

i get that look constantly and i hate how i feel the need to back up my no job by reassuring them that i am attending university. i believe that until i ask them for money to pay my bills they should keep their "looks" to themselves.

I left my job 9 weeks ago and have no plan to look for another yet and I have had that look from a few people but my friends are fully supportive.More power to us!!!

Hey Melissa, give em the "Beaming with Happiness" look and they'll walk away wondering!!!My great friend Charmaine got lots of these looks when she quit her job to set up Virtually Possible (virtual secretary) and she has never looked back! Inspiring, brave, and Very Zen!!ciao lisa
