Driving… & talking blogging with my Dad.

Blurry supposed to be like driving pic
Yesterday {well, it will be yesterday by the time this does it’s scheduled post magic and appears on Monday morning} my Mum, Dad and I traveled the two and bit hours to Bundy to watch my brother’s hockey team in their first final in freakin’ ages. And between naps we had the best chats. Don’t you always have great chats in the car.
On the way back after grabbing some dinner, I update the parentals on all things Suger Coat It. My Dad who is wary of networking type sites and information sharing online stays pretty quiet. I talk some more about views and visits and latest topics of choice. About the blog event I was missing that day. Dad started asking questions. I was excited that he showed an increased interest.
He asked what I wrote about. And I said, everything. So then we talked types of blogs. I shared with him about business blogs and specific genre type blogs. I was wary that he would be upset with me about the amount of me that I shared online. But I did expand on the topic more than I have in the past. He listened without the usual cautious side notes.
And so, my Dad and I talked blogging. Squeeee! {yeah, I know, I totally squeee’ed}
I am desperate for him to start his own blog, to record some of the amazing stories that are his life. I especially want him to share what he knows about raising children, making money and having standards in a shifting world. I think it is a topic a lot of people would get value out of. I mean, he has started a book. Why not test it out on us lot. Right!? And we all know nothing goes together better than Authors and Blogging.
Now how do I talk him into it? Just set him up and let him go?
Thoughts?

  3. Set him up and ask him to Test drive it. If he doesn't like it he doesn't have to continue…That's what I told myself just over a year ago.

  4. Oh cool. You could just set him up or get him to guest post a few times to see if he has the taste for it.

  5. Oooh I love you with blonde hair!From what I've heard your dad has some beautiful home truths worth sharing, let us know when he finishes his book – I for one would love to read it. xx
