Judgie McJudge-a-lot

This Jackie O stuff is the last straw to a thought that has been lingering in my head for a while now. A thought that in some ways I have no right to think. Because we are all guilty of it. Judging others. Some of us do it quietly in our heads. Others share these judgments around. Most of us fall somewhere in between.

But seriously when will women {and people in general learn} learn that you can’t judge somebody until you walk a day in their shoes. And since, it is virtually impossible {without reality tv} to do such a thing with any semblance of reality to it, the public lynching and general condemnation needs to stop. It’s ugly and the worst of us as human beings. 

Who died and made you judge, jury & executioner!? 

We all do the best with what we have in the minute that we are in. When will we get that? Could you have made a better choice, in hindsight. Could you have tried harder, worker longer, done more? Who knows. You made the decision in that moment and it was the only one that you could have made. I believe that there is nothing else you could have done. No other option available.

Think about it…. Think about the last time you stuffed up, hurt someone’s feelings, hit one of your kids in the head with a cupboard door. Could it really have gone any different? Really. Could it have?

    Exactly! And it seems sometimes women judging other women is the harshest and worst type of judging. Sad. We should be cheering one another on.

    I agree with you, Melissa. Except I think this case is even worse. Because I don't think she actually did anything wrong. Walking across a pedestrian crossing on a quiet leafy street, feeding your baby is not dangerous. It is a fact of life – babies often need to be fed on the run. It is a far better choice than letting the poor little thing scream.And the critisism about her going back to work?! Not only is her husband home to do his half of the parenting, but she was working FROM home. It boggles my mind.

    I wont pretend that i dont judge others – its just human nature to do so. However, just because you have an opinion one way or another doesnt mean you to need to share it in a national newspaper, especially when it isnt nice and is about something which ISNT EVEN YOUR BUSINESS.

    Absolutely! Every single day we could do better, which is what we should strive for. I loathe how judgemental women are, and how ingrained it is in us. Why should we only feel good if we're compared to someone 'bad'? I try really hard to push judgement out of my head when it comes in. It's tough, but I think I owe it to the human race, and everyone I come into contact with, to do so.Great post x

    Well, perhaps it will be bloggers to cause a revolution. Go us. Women. Mothers need to stand together.
