Take that BACK!

Do you find it difficult to admit when you are wrong? When you’ve said something that later even you know wasn’t right. As in given a wrong answer, told the story wrong or made a fuss of someone {say someone like your Hubby just for examples sake!?} giving a wrong answer.
Do you say, I was wrong?Whoops. Sorry! Or do you hide out and hope the other person was so swayed by your dazzling argument of sheer awesome’ness that now they believe you and the wrong answer could just be right. Kinda.
Today we we driving. Talking about our New Year’s Eve 2000 plans. I was saying I was 17. Hubby said no, he was 17. Bring one year {Or three months really. December to March} older than me it is impossible that we both be 17 at NYE 2000. Hmmm. I said. Derr I said. I laughed and taunted and teased him. And. Ah. I was wrong. Whoops.
I was still teasing him I realised. I think I was counting out the years on my fingers at the time. Loudly, sarcastically, I’m an awesome wife like that. So I started laughing. I looked over at him and said umm actually. Scratch that. I was 16. Sorry about that. And flashed him my sweetest, whoopsie, smile.
Hubby just smiled. Bemused. I think I had convinced him I was right and his memory was wrong. And his math was wrong. And his year of birth. I am very convincing actually. He proceeded to profess that yeah, he knew, he just was waiting until I realised it for my self. Liar! Ha.
So. Tell me. Do you fess up quickly before they can prove you wrong or do you hold firm and try and talk them around!? Don’t worry. I’ve tried both.

  1. I always apologise and wear it, usually laughing at myself and my stuff up.

  2. I 'fess up. I'm a hopeless bluffer at the best of times. Eating humble pie is so much easier!! x

  3. Pffft, I'm never wrong, so I wouldn't know! :P

  4. I usually fess up..put my tail between my legs and deal with it, lol. Usually my husband thinks its pretty funny, and then does his "I told you so" dance.

  5. I don't. I never fess up, I will fight to the death about a stupid thing even in the face of absolute and total wrongness I still don't admit it. I just change the subject.

  6. LMAO @ amy – Guv would tell you that I'd answer the same as her, according to him, i say i'm never wrong.i am. though rarely.if he's right, i admit he is – but only if i have to :-)
