A Fat to Fit UPDATE

Hit & Hope – Inskip Point
Soooo. I bet you’ve all been wondering about this haven’t you. Well. Haven’t you? So I am still going to Curves. But they got water through the gym and only reopened Monday. I haven’t been yet. I planned to but I’ve finished too late for their closing times. Boo to that. I was looking forward to getting back into it.
But don’t be too disappointed.
I downloaded the Couch to 5km app for my iPhone. And shock of all shocks. I started USING it. Sunday night {I’m pretty sure it was} I plugged my phone into my treadie’s speaker dock {flash, I know} and off I went. And I huffed and puffed my way through Day 1 Week 1. I had to slow down the run sections at times but I made it.
Woot.
And then tonight, as those on facebook would know, I completed Day 2! Gosh I’m a legend. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself right now. Feels good to stretch my legs. Hmm. Stretching. Maybe I should do more of that. I’m a bit stiff tonight. Nothing a good bendy stretch before bed won’t help. Ask me again tomorrow.
Progress has been ok. No weight lost since starting at Curves. But at my last weigh measure I had lost more cm’s all over. And my lower back pain is ALL gone. Bonus. Looking forward to dropping some actual kg’s as we head into the phase where I monitor what i’m eating more carefully.
Watch this space. Or facebook. I update more on facebook.

  4. well done on starting the C25k …and going slower is ok don't worry you'll get there in your own time.I am so envious of your speaker dock.

  6. Great news Melissa! I did C25k last year and am still running (sometimes more than others!). It is a really do-able program. remember that you can repeat a week if you are not ready for the next step. Glad the new family member is getting some action :)

  7. You've lost cm's?? I'm so proud of you!Couch to 5kms sounds like a great plan.
