There was a time when I used to mostly write stuff on here. I wrote about my day, my feeeelings and my life. The front page was covered in words and words and words. Interrupted only intermittently by an image or two pinched from Google, badly credited, of course. And today as I quickly photo collaged a bunch of images I wondered where the words had gone. And if it mattered.
Was it that I post so often now that there isn’t enough time for something to really build and percolate and become something. The last time I really sat down to write something I felt it was strained, deliberate and clumsy. Goodness knows how journos do it. Write with intent, I mean.
And I suppose to some degree the introduction of D3 the Nikon has made a difference too. Images are more likely to be mine and more interesting. Hopefully making up for the general lake of expertise with a camera. Now I often take my camera, take the time to capture moments. Pose people, objects and myself. I keep a collection of ME stock images of random stuff I like or think will make a good picture.
I guess over time I am turning into a blogger.
And as I mentally wrap up 2010 I was wondering how you all were going with this process. Because sadly, I like an audience. Blogging wouldn’t hold the same appeal to me if no one read. To be completely honest. So I did a quick survey. You know, the survey I did on the sidebar. And it became quickly evident that you prefer the ‘the random weirdness’ that is Suger Coat It.
And I like that answer. Because while I plan to do more She wore What!? and more Fat to Fit in the new year. Not to mention that my job, Hubby and family aren’t going anywhere. Mostly I love that you love this blog for the randomness.
So yeah. Thank you.
