I was speaking to my friend Fi the other day, regarding my scraped into a pony tail with a alice headband to hold my fringe back hairdo. My everyday staple. Because in Queensland, when it is hot and humid. It is hot and humid and there is no point to hair styling. Especially not primping and preening.
I have naturally wavy hair. With a bit of mouse lie assistance, it curls into ringlets. Nice. But my current hairstyle requires a straight fringe {at LEAST!} and thought it is possible to wear it wavy it looks better straight. Or close to it. And I love this style. It is my favourite cut ever. When I make an effort.
On special occasions it get washed, blow dry, hair sprayed {to within an inch of its life} and on the stubborn pieces and general lengths it gets a going over with a straightener. And throughout this lengthy process, cooped in a small bathroom with limited possibility for breezes, I huff and puff and sweat and strain.
And my fringe starts to curl back up.
And so I straighten it again. And then it looks OVER straightened and starts getting oily looking. So I start to work on the rest of my head of hair only to find the humidity reacting to the steam and causing a friz on the already done bits. Sigh. Seriously. It is a giant pain in the bum. And that, that is the perils of having a hairstyle that requires preening in the Queensland summer.
I think this is where, on Twitter, they would use the hash tag
