| Not my Skirt – From We Heart It |
If you wear opaque stockings then short is fine and respectful looking for work but if you're wearing a G with a flippy skirt in the wind, you might gain a reputation. lol! I like the rule that if you can't sit down without flashing your undies, then it's too short. I got the giggles when a friend recently wore a skirt that was short and was struggling to hold it down whilst she squatted into a low seat. Hmmmmm… too short AND too tight: not good. :)
I don't do skirts OR dresses so this question doesn't actually apply TO me but I think if you're constantly pulling the skirt down or it barely covers your arse – then it's too short.I often see girls/women pulling up or tugging down clothes that they obviously aren't comfortable in and I just think – "why wear them?".I know I'm older and showing my age when I happily admit to wearing clothes for comfort over looks because in all honesty when you're comfortable in what you wear, you're also alot more attractive!Do you feel comfortable in the skirt/dress? Has anyone made any comments about it at work?~x~
im a mid thigh girl. but when i was younger i would go upper thigh. but generally speaking mid thigh means nothing is showing when i bend over. x
I don't go any shorter than a few inches below my butt. You know. A few inches of upper thigh covered up. Anything that sits just under my butt is way too short for me. Slips, that I wear under sheer dresses can end just under the butt, but even though I'm okay with them, no one else seems to be. So that makes you self conscious.Shorts, though, are a different story. Shorts that end just under your butt (hemline width or a few centimetres) are okay, because with shorts you can't see what's underneath!
I don't wear skirts or dresses anymore, I'm just not comfortable feeling my thighs touching when I walk. If I did, I would have them a little longer than mid thigh, and definitely not tight. Knee length is too long for me because I'm short and just a little chunky around the middle.I used to wear skirts as short as the pictured one, right up until my first pregnancy began to show. Now it's jeans and shorts.
Ah. Yea olde windy day skirt-wearing woman. Doesn't matter how short the skirt is if its flippy and windy weather – just gotta wear pretty nickers!! xo
I had an "I'm too old for this skirt" moment the other day actually. I tried on a couple of dresses for a wedding I am going to and found that, while they fitted okay, they were just too short. My self-talk was all "mutton dressed as lamb". Not sure when I got too old for short skirts but I obviously have :(
