On Safari

So it was a mere two weeks since our wedding and I was preparing to board a plane. We had a house under construction and it made me nervous to leave it behind. I would also miss my new husband. Because in an unusual twist he wasn’t coming with me. No honeymoon for us. I was on a town ambassador mission. And he had to stay at home and work, keep an eye on the house and my business. Thanks honey.
I boarded the plane, with a massive hangover from a big night with my bestie the night before, and was on my way to South Africa. Upon arrival we would complete our mission of submitting Gympie’s bid for the World Gold Panning Championship {Don’t ask, long story} and head off for 10 days of sightseeing.
One night during our sightseeing self drive tour thingy we stayed with the family of one of my travel buddies church friends. And she was a travel agent. As fires raged outside, we booked into a yet to be opened 6 star resort, spa and wildlife reserve. She promised us unbelievable service, great food and personal wildlife tours. We were in.
That night as we settled into our room after being charged by a rhino and seeing warthogs wandering the grounds, I sighed. She was right. It was perfect. It made real life a little hard to bare. Earlier that evening we had a silver service dinner prepared. It was served, at our request, on the timber deck beside the pool overlooking the most amazing orange sunset I have ever seen. And I had worn, jeans and a t shirt. It seemed sacrilegious in a way.
I wish, I really wish, I had this outfit and the legs to wear it. Though let’s face it. The hat would have been too much. Ha!
Play along with Danimezza with the weekly Polly Dolly Challenge. It is awesome fun. Especially if you have a will to shop and don’t really have the means (or a sample sized body) to do it with.  All the details and to link up. Go here.
