I was thinking about this idea this evening as we visited my cousin and his partner {who is due to have a baby in Jan}. We were talking about her incredible skill as an artist. And how she would love an opportunity to work from home and sell her art and had no real idea how to do it. Her grandmother has always earned a living as an artist. She is quite successful and oftern sells paintings in the thousands. But for her, right now, it is a dream. Or that is how I heard it.
And I was like sooooo excited. Because I’m like great, we will set you up a made it and etsy store, a blog and a facebook and twitter account and you can go from there. Doing commissioned work or selling the paintings that you do. Excellent. Let’s go. It needs a name and then I can go really nuts. I left her with that. It is her business, let her come up with the name at least since it appears I will be taking over the rest. Ha!
And I realised how much my access to this world of blogging has opened up. There are so many doors of opportunity. Hubby talks about doing a trip to The Cape on an old postie bike and I talk sponsorship and tracking the adventure with a blog. Talk about trying something new cooking or lifestyle or living wise and I think blog. Attempting to write a book and have it published? I picture a blog tracking your progress and the fictional progress of your character. I see opportunity to blog and internet it up everywhere.
The possibilities really are endless. I dream often of finding a way to get to do this full time, all the time. As a career. A way to make a living and feed my passion for writing and sharing. Of taking photos and design type stuff. Not to mention the nerd in me adores every moment of learning something new HTML wise. And surely there is someone out there making their living with it..? Isn’t there.
