Say bye bye baby

As another week flies bye I think I may finally be there mentally. Ready for the challenge ahead of me. Ready for however long it takes. And how did this happen? That was a rather speedy shift. Well whilst blog hopping around I follow a link to Miss Bitch Cakes. And I read a few of her fun and info packed posts.
One thing of so many that caught my attention was when she was talking about how people ask her how long it has taken for her to loose the weight that now sees her at her WW goal/lifetime weight. And she hates it (to paraphrase). Because there are so many dates and possible starting points and adventures etc. From the last time she started WW it has been four years.
I read that and was like 4 years! I can’t wait that long to be fit and healthy. But I could. Wait that is. I have waited this long. I have been overweight my whole adult life. And I can only not say whole life due to an eating disorder during high school that had me within healthy weight ranges. Me and food. Well that has been a lifetime battle.
So today when I indulged a little more than I planned. I have opted to do the only thing that I can do. Get on the treadie and walk it off. It’s time to face facts. However long it takes, it is like Lucy said, I’d rather be one year closer (Hell, I’d take one step) than not to have started at all.
Do yourself a favour Fat to Fitters, go check out Ms Bitch Cakes. Its a fun read. This girl rode 75 miles in a corset, skirt, seemed pantyhose and heels. Glamor girl meets weight loss blog.

  1. It took me 2.5yrs to lose 45kg. Sure I could have been like the biggest losers and lost it in 6 mths (maybe not) but I wanted to enjoy my life still!I never counted points on the weekends! I still got drunk – I still had maccas (certainly not as much) but I would make up for it all on the weekend and it worked for meDo whatever works for youxoxoNicky(www.snobnicky.blogspot.com)

  2. Time will pass regardless. xx

  3. A timely post for me. I was thinking this exact same thing today and then Lucy's comment above sums it right up, doesn't it? Time will pass regardless. We've just got to keep on keeping on and time will pass and we'll be closer to our healthy goals than if we'd never begun in the first place. Even if it's one measly kilo, that's one less to lose and one more that we didn't put on. x

  4. The think to also remember is that yes there WILL be days that you fall off the weightloss wagon and that's fine, slip ups happen and if you're anything like me if I deny myself everything I immediately want it!Falling off the wagon is fine as long as you climb back on it!!Good luck – my new life starts tomorrow!xx

  5. I love this post, and I totally love Miss Bitch Cakes. :) I agree too – it doesn't matter how long it takes to get there just as long as we GET THERE. :)

  6. Glad you found ms bitchcakes as well. she is fab. Loved her post about getting to goal and how long it took.Just remember what her leader saidthe time is going to go by anyway, so who cares how long it takes?so so true

  7. It will take everyone however long it takes to get to goal. It is getting there that makes you a complete legend in my mind. Not how long it took! Let's not get into 'competitive dieting'.I like Ms Bitchcakes. Sensible advice!
