I have been sent a voucher for Google Ad words. Of course I have, everyone gets them I hear. A free trial. And there was a time that I thought seriously about using Ad Words to generate traffic. Because as all website owners know, generating traffic is where it is at. Real traffic that will convert to sales.
So I did a little research. And I saw a case study, covered in Nett Magazine of a online business using a SEO specialist who recommend a per click basis Ad Word account. They were exciting to see the clicks on their site go up and up and up. They were excited to see their online sales go up. They added an increase in sales per month with an average sale of around $40 (from memory, I have misplaced the article right now). All was good with the world. Then they got their Ad Words account. And it was over $2,000 for the month. And they had had a minor revenue increase.
So I am nervous about giving it a go. As you can imagine. So for now, I am increasing traffic the old fashioned way; visiting other bloggers, writing stuff that interests people and… Well, that’s all I’ve got. What do you think? Give it a go… Is there a way I can limit the spend?
