| The Cubby |
This Sunday my beautiful Sister in Law {the 30 something week pregnant} Jessa went to my cousin’s to fulfill on a promise to Harry and Molly to help them paint the interior of their cubby house. With some sample pots in hand off we went. Spirits were high and we were excited with our colour choices. I was a little frustrated I hadn’t been able to locate the half a can of black wall paint I wanted to take. Oh well. Another weekend. And so we started with an undercoat…

And then we took a break. Because painting is hard work. Especially painting raw timber weather boards with their first ever coat of paint. We used litres and litres of white. Even raiding the stash of left over house paint from under the house. After pancakes, we got back into painting. And below is the proud team and the finished product!

So what do you think? Not too shabby for a Sunday mornings work. And that colour, the orange, it is called Ballistic Orange. Don’t you just think that is perfect for these excitable 5 and 7 year old’s own domain? We are heading back on a future weekend to paint the blackboard wall and a hot pink feature wall on the white wall with the window. It’ll be great. We had so much fun.
Have you ever painted with kids? Jessa works in childcare and was awesome. I found that apparently I am quite bossy and attached to getting my own way. Both of which I had to give up so we could have a good time. Sigh. Lesson learned.
Pop over to Fat Mum Slim and check out what everyone else has been up to.
And check out the rules if you want to play too!
