My Hubby will be a great Daddy because…

My Sis & Hubby ham it up for the camera. Silly heads.

Can I just tell you. I was thinking about this today as we went about the celebrating of all things fatherly. And my Hubby. Well he will someday make an excellent father. Here are a few things I came up with;

  • That face. Up there. Seriously, kids will love that face. I love that face.
  • Hubby is sooooo generous. Anything he has, it would be yours in a second if you wanted it. He loves just as generously. It is a remarkable thing.
  • He’s silly. And goofy. And fun. Nuff said.
  • He does loads of washing like a pro. Clothes barely hit the floor before they are scooped up and loaded into a washing machine.
  • He has these amazing arms. Strong. With gorgeous forearms with width and muscle that impresses me everyday. They are cradling arms. Prefect for protecting and soothing and hugging. And I should know.
  • He adores kids. If you look around you will often find him hanging out with the kids, ooohing or ahhing at the latest newborn or tipping the toy basket on the floor. He is a kids dream adult. He’s one of them.

And most of all, he is patient. More patient than I have ever been. More so than I could possibly ever hope to be. I think I did good. I think I made the perfect choice for my the one. I think I am lucky to have him. And mostly I think he has waited long enough. He waited over 4 years for me to even BE ready to start trying. This man, he was built to be a father. Tell whomever you need to.

Spread the word. Happy Father’s Day!

  1. Oh Mel, I sooo totally agree that my little (big) brother was born to be a father. He is soo nurturing and loving. It kind of bring tears to my eyes to think about. Tell him I love him so much!!! We will have to come down and visit again because I just realised how much I miss him (and you of course!!) I think too because he reminds me of Dad as well….

  2. Very sweet post. And heck, he loads the dishwasher? Then it's for certain.

  3. Mel, you are so close. It will happen. It's out there.

  4. I'm confused. Is it Father's Day there? I hate doing laundry, but I will load the dishes and take out the trash. He is truly a better man than I.

  5. Yeah CB, we do it in September…

  6. I do hope you will both (obviously) be parents within a year.
