… and it is called, annual leave. Oh my goodness. Thank god! Today sucked sooooo badly that I almost cried. Have you had days like that? Yep. I’m sure you have. And it was work related, mostly.
Do you want to know what happened? It’s all kinda funny when you step back from it. Probably not so funny if you live next door. This morning I had barely been in the office for an hour when a call comes through to me asking to speak to the manager of a certain house, in a certain street. Sigh. Let me tell you, that is never a good sign. I tentatively answer the call and find a happy person on the end of the line. Phew. Dodged a bullet. Yay. I joke with her that it sounded ominous. She didn’t laugh.
It turns out it was ominous.
She was calling to make a complaint. A big one. She sounded happy because she finally had the right person. She was happy because she was going to make sure her fellow neighbors also had this number so they could voice their concerns. you see, it turns out, that one of the properties that I have taken over has a little problem.
Young tenants. Partying. Loud music. Probable property damage. The authorities had been called. And (and I’m glad you waited because this is the part that is actually funny) nude runs with raised voices shouted woohoo and howdy neighbors, the hooligans are in town…. Hmmm.
Now call me straight laced and dead boring but this doesn’t occur to me as the best way to introduce yourself to the neighbors. What do you think? Shall I try it on the neighbors I haven’t met yet? I am pretty out of shape, it may be a short run. Not to mention that this is a mighty small cul-de-sac. I’d have to do a loop and some lucky neighbors would get a double shot.
Sigh. Young people these days. Heehee.
