Love Drew… Simple.

When it comes to actresses I have a few favourites. Few of them have been on that list as long as Drew. I was a teenager when she was running around flashing her boobs on late night talk shows. I loved that. I was soooo not the boob flashing type. Not really anyway. And from grungy girl to today. Wow. Talk about what I want to be when I grow up. Weird, but in a good way. You know..?
When I was 17, Drew had cropped white blonde hair and at the time so did I. Once, a boy I knew said I looked like Drew. And if I disregard the haircut, I think it may have been a boobs compared to overall body size thing. Who knows. Bless him. Flattery will get you everywhere. And come to think of it, I think in his case it did. Literally.
Whoops. Over share?
Ahhh, I wish it was true. I’ve always wanted to be a petite, pocket rocket type. With glamorous and timelessly elegant features. I wanted to be a chameleon of style, of fashion and of trends. The only thing I do have is the adaptable skin tone that suits any hair colour. You gotta take your wins where you can get them. I suppose.
Short version of all this. I love Drew. And I loved Whip it *edited to correct name… whoops*. Did you see it? Director and Queen. Love her.
Who’s your favourite actress/director/generally famous tinsel town type women? I think I read once that Ms PPMJ at Pink Patent Mary Janes loves Julianne Moore. Go on, let me know your leading lady and why her.

  1. Sandra Bullock, even before her recent amazing success. She is gorgeous, but kind kooky too, and appears to be glossy and groomed, but equally happy being a little dorky……

  2. Hmmm…i don't really have a favourite actress. But Drew Barrymore – I love Never Been Kissed – has to be one of my favourite chick flicks ever. I also went through a stage of loving Ever After

  3. Ooooh I also love Drew – no matter what. Must see Whip It! Also agree with Lucy on loving Sandra Bullock – even more so now after that cheating husband debacle!

  4. Whip It – very much a B-Grade movie sadly. Waited, anticipating due to my roller derby addiction. Skating was good, rest was blah. Disappointed for sure. That being said, I loved her in Charlies Angels, Poison Ivy, and Never Been Kissed. My favourite actress? Hmmm, will have to ponder that one.

  5. Eva Mendes cos she is just stunning & seems nice as pie.Hilary swank cos she is tough as nails but still ultra feminine.

  6. I've always had a soft spot for Drew right from when I say her in ET. Not sure that I have a favourite actress, but actors on the other hand – Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery (only when he was older) – and there is a few more but won't bore you. I suppose if I stop and think about just actresses I would have to say – no can't really think of one that stands out above the rest.

  7. She has always been one of my favs.

  8. I was unsure whether or not I wanted to see Whip It…. I knew that I didn't want to see it in the theater, but I like Ellen Page, Kristen Wiig and Drew Barrymore. But now I'm going to go rent it! You answered it for me…. 'Whip It Good'…. Ah ha ha ha ha! See what I did?I really am going to see it though….

  9. Hahaha. I just loved the grunge-i-ness of Whip It. Plus the fun part, I hadn't heard anything about it, had no expectations and felt like seeing people get knocked on their ass. Mission Accomplished.
