Let me tell you a story. Told to me by Hubby. It is one of those conspiracy theory type stories. Like faking a moon walk. Assassinating a president. Aliens building the pyramids. It is that level of importance. Serious, you know. Very serious.
Well, it is to Hubby and Dad anyway.
You see they have a side project that involves mowing and maintaining properties in our local area including some of the new housing estates parks etc. They have a small tractor, two ride on mowers, a push mower (commandeered from our house), two whipper snippers and a garden blower type thingy. More than enough hardware for a side project you would think. More than enough.
Well, I’m afraid to tell you, you think wrong. It’s never enough. Why, I hear you ask. That makes no sense. How big is this side project, I hear you ask. Not big at all, is my reply. You see the problem is that apparently the ride on mowers either both work or both don’t work. At exactly the same time. Let me repeat that so it sinks in.
They work or don’t work at the same time. Every time.
You see where the conspiracy element comes in here? Hmmm. I inquired a little deeper into this before representing this as a legitimate theory. Of course, I did. Such is my commitment to delivering to you actual, factual, at least in some way tested and not found totally lacking, conspiracy theories.
And upon investigation I found repair bill after repair bill that listed not just one but both mowers listed every time. Sometimes I even found parts purchased in duplicate. I found that despite early theories that Hubby and Dad might have been tight ass’s and bought a cheap ass brand that continues to break down that this was not the case either. Both reputable brands. They are in fact different reputable brands.
What can you do. Sometimes, maybe, mowers just get into cahoots* with each other. Stinkers.
*Oh gosh. How exciting. I used the word cahoots in a post. I’ve been waiting a while… it feels like a dream come true I must say.
