Oh the Heartbreak…

I couldn’t write the property management debrief type thing I promised. I just couldn’t do it tonight. You see tonight, in my house, a house filled with love and good times something frustrating and heartbreaking occurred. There were raised voices. More than one extend string of swear words uttered. The laughter was gone. At one stage I was so angry and frustrated I almost cried.

Hubby bore the brunt of it. As often they (being hubby’s) do in times like these. He copped it sweet though without a word of complaint. Like he knew. He knew I needed to rage a little. And that I didn’t mean it. It was a dark, dark place to be in our house tonight. And once again it is the fault of those gosh awful super mario brothers.

Bet you didn’t see that coming.

We have been playing again. And by we, I mean Hubby. I simply cannot face being squished by giant caterpillars or stupid looking dragon type things just to rescue a princess who looks pretty damned happy with herself. I’m pretty sure she could leave anytime. She just enjoys the fuss. Silly attention seeking cow.

It happened on the fifth level. Still a relatively amateur level in most ways. But the middle castle is driving me around the twist. Seriously. And to think, after all I have experienced and learnt and grown from in my life I may finally be pushed over the edge by some idiots in overalls.

As a side note most people in overalls almost push me over the edge due to early 90’s type flashback… do you remember those gosh awful fluro coloured overalls or was that just me..?

So with disgust I handed Hubby my remote. Checked myself out of the game. DESPITE the fact that today is family day/date night. Dragged the laptop to the couch and decided to vent my frustration as Hubby bravely fights on waving the family flag. Good on him. He always was the patient one of our twosome.

But seriously. If I hear one more coin being collected or Mario death noise I may just snap. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

  1. Do you guys have a Wii? Boxing is the ultimate in stress relief and taking out frustrations!

  2. It's Princess Peach I'd be guessing. Boy child is 11 and thinks she is so lame. She can't do anything herself, always waiting around to be rescued.

  3. hahaha. You're right, I didn't see it coming.

  4. Haha, got 'cha! That's so funny.

  5. To the first commenter, I agree with you. Wii is very effective if you want to release your stress.

  6. Oh, my goodness, you're funny! I'm not a video game player per se (although I HAVE played the wii boxing game that Kelly referred to and LOVE it!), but my husband plays Call of Duty ad nauseum. He says it relieves stress, but all I hear coming from the room are "You're KIDDING me?" and "Take that, Ba$tard!!" (He's normally so calm!)Thanks for the laugh! Good luck in your future princess saving!!

  7. We have had to remove Zelda from the Wii..you know… for the safety of the children.

  8. Hahaha. Glad to see I'm not alone in this. Still haven't managed to must the will to go back. One day I'm sure, it will return.

  9. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Level 5 …!!! LOL JKYou had me going and i'm sure i've read this post before he he he.
