So it’s been a rough old week in property management world. I’ve been screamed at. A lot. Like, lots more than usual. It seems that all the problems that my little management portfolio has accumulated over it’s 18 months pre-ME are exploding to the forefront. That’s fine I say. I’m an excellent manager I can deal. But what is suffering most this week is my sense of humour. You see none, I repeat, none of the shouting has been funny or amusing in any way.
So I decided I’d bring it back with one of my all time favourite things to do… an ‘I just realised I won’t be paying rent because’ list. And here we go;
- because I don’t think it’s fair for me to pay and my room mate not to pay, so I’m not paying either.
- because I have this thing on and I need the money, you understand, right!?
- because my wallet is locked in my car and I don’t have RACQ (road side assist for Qld) right now to be able to break in and get it out.
- because I don’t want to pay it anymore
- because my dog stole my wallet and buried it in my kids sandpit and than it rained and everything got ruined (please note this would be a much better excuse if Australian dollars weren’t plastic!)
- because I had the money yesterday but I spent it
- because I asked the owner to put in a pool and they haven’t gotten back to me
- because the bank shut early
- because my kids flushed my wallet with all the cash in it and I can’t get it back out
- because I have four flat tyres and no way to get there
- because I paid last week
And that’s about all I can think of now. But geez that felt good to do. Not sure if you’ll see the funny side or if it is only funny to me because I can picture the exact moment I heard this delivered by an actual, real life person. Sometimes they are right, truth IS stranger than fiction.
When it comes to people anyway.
