Today is going to take something special. I am up to my ears in work and more keeps coming. I have seven tenancy applications, 3 new let’s, 14 vacant properties, one open for inspection with 11 interested parties – 1 property and 2 tenants who decided Christmas is as good a reason as any to stop paying rent. You know, worse than normal. Much worse.
How does that happen? Does someone send out a message that no one told me about? One that says ‘Quick, now it is the time to call for a chat/send an email requesting four different companies direct deposit information/make her look through the entire file for that time that I reported the leak in, like, 2002/request a property viewing in the next town, 20 minutes away, for our house that might be available next year… as in 2011’.
I hate to sound negative (literally, I hate to do it) but how does this happen! Off I went to work today with a huge smile on my face, a packed lunch, new Kikki K post it’s and ‘My Day’ Planner and I was early… It was awesome. And I opened my emails.
*insert dramatic, there is an evil thing lurking in the not too distant distance, background music*
I had masses and masses of emails. There were 113 in total. I should have known, it was a sign to log out and run home. And I had literally been away from my desk for 3 working days. Count ’em, THREE!
And worse… there was no funny stories. And you may not know yet, but funny property management stories are the lifeblood of property managers everywhere. It keeps us going. And when I needed them the most, there was none.
On the upside, last night I had tim tams, sprite zero and lollies for dinner; just because.
