I’ve been a fan of the easy to wear jumpsuit since, well, forever! It took me a little while to find one that fits my long torso but the first of those that I loved was from Yours Clothing. I lived in that jumpsuit with its pockets and wide leg fit. My only struggle was the rear zip closure (always a problem) but I looked passed that, as you do. It was on high rotation for a while there.
Then last month the team from Birdsnest sent me an email with the new AW17 Belle Bird lookbook. Belle Bird is their plus size offering (though, full disclosure it ends at a size 22) and I loved the simple, classic, but interesting pieces. When they invited me to try a piece or two, I went to the site to check it out.
Hello, new favourite jumpsuit.
Soon it arrived, and I knew I wanted to use it in some of my styled photos for the blog. Since then, I’ve had a few questions about the jumpsuit, my mother is raving about it after seeing it on, and I tend to dress it down with slides and crazy hair because it’s just that comfortable. Not an ad, promise. Haha. But you know how hard to find this kind of thing is!
Plus, and are you ready for this, it’s stretchy and therefore has no zip to struggle with! Yaaaaaas. A plan began forming, a winter outfit plan. This stunning jumpsuit under a longline coat with ankle booties or heels. Very glam, yet easy to wear. I think I could even style it with some sneakers when the weather gets too cold for slides. It’s going to be a jumpsuit kind of winter, I think.
So watch this space! Jumpsuits are on my HOT list and I’m taking you guys along for the ride. Below I’ve shared a couple more photos, including one I shot in my office today so you can see the details without the jacket on. Let me know if you have questions or want some styling advice. Not that you guys need it, rock stars.

Jumpsuits, playsuits, whatever it is we’re calling them, do you wear them?

The jumpsuit looks great on you! I have just bought the 17sundays jumpsuit and am also planning a ‘jumpsuit kind of winter’. I plan to wear as is now and layer it under my 17sundays long line cardigans and over long sleeve tees once the weather gets cooler.
You’re going to love it. My plan is very similar. The one I’m wearing here is going to look KILLER over my sheer bodysuit when it gets cooler. Can’t wait!
I wish I could find a jumpsuit that fitted. I hate most of them in me because the look like I have a pair of ginormus pants on with a semi fitted top or my waist is under my boobs all of which are not good looks. My problem is I am very much a long torsoed wedge with 4 sizes difference between between bust and hips Some of the Birds Nest offerings this season are much more pocket friendly and I do like receiving their emails.
This one with the stretch helps, it might be worth a try. I have a long torso too, so I hear you! But, that said, with such a size variance, you might be better off finding something that fits the bottom and having the top tailored?
