Welcome Monday, right? I learnt a lot this weekend about myself, about my abilities and how quickly I turn to procrastination when it rains. I like snuggles on the couch and being cradled in Hubby’s arm. I like light layers and wasting time deciding what to wear when we really aren’t going anywhere at all. I like to make up occasions.
When it came to this bodysuit I picked up last time I was at Mel’s house raiding her extensive wardrobe and shop I knew I wanted to wear it boyfriend jeans {though whoops, last years don’t really do up right now, awkward} and with skirt for going out. It wasn’t until I was running about the house trying to find JUST the right skirt that I though, oh pants. I tuck a lot anyway, a bodysuit is just like the next step.
Right?
Bodysuits. I hear you from here. Seriously. I’m writing this and I can almost hear the roar of the crowd. The hell no Suger, not a chance. We all remember the high cut lycra things made famous by Aerobics Oz Style, most of us shudder, though let’s face it if you were anything like me you were a little obsessed with the thigh definition those women were able to achieve and the memories aren’t all bad. Mildly motivating even.
I’ve uttered the word bodysuit on this blog only once before this {from memory, correct me if I’m wrong, maybe the 90’s post?} when I snapped up the crotch of an embellished bodysuit for the Aussie Curves: Off the Runway challenge. I was hooked. Not in the crotch mind you, hooked on bodysuits, geez, stay with me.
Mel plucked this baby from her stash and I sized up TWO sizes for the length and while it worked in that regard I’m going to have to get someone to alter the sleeves. So there’s the hot tip for you folks, try these things on when you can. Wearing a bodysuit requires a pretty specific fit. Fitted but not tight, long but not saggy and generally well cut to follow your bod. Got that? Happy shopping.

Look let’s talk about it, will you be revisiting the whole bodysuit thing OR did the 90’s scar you for life? Fess up.

You look great, that bodysuit is awesome. I loved mine in the 90’s. I had long and short sleeve ones and wore them with my brother’s Levis. By the end of a big night they were a bit tricky to fasten up though! You are so right about having to try them on. I ordered one online and it is too short in torso but too baggy in the waist. Belle Curve have a gorgeous one that I saw online, I am going to try on in-store when I feel like braving the chaos of Westfield during school holidays!
Thank you! And YES, I know the one. Liv from Wait Until the Sunset has that one. It’s gorgeous. I’ve been meaning to try it on myself.
