Firstly, let me catch you up. The team at Renovating Italy have had problems selling their house at Brighton given the recent shittiness of the property market in these parts. The July departure date was pushed to Auguest, then September and now has been virtually {fingers crossed people!} locked in at the 25th October. Great news for us!
Why? Well, because our trip is entirely dependent on Lisa and Sam {Team Renovating Italy!}. They don’t go, we don’t go. They get delayed, our trip gets delayed. You see the correlation here? Sooooo, when Sammy called me last week and said that it was pretty much all systems go, I squealed a little. Oh my. It’s on. ON. Get it?
Our plan is to fly into Milan a week or two after Sam and Lisa arrive. We will join the family in their newly purchased camper and go from there. Our first stops will be all throughout Italy. Make sure I see everything {and let’s face it, EAT everything} that I’ve always wanted to see. From there we will visit France, Germany, Switzerland etc before it gets too snowy and freezing cold. And when the weather turns cold {really cold compared to sort of cold} we will head to the warmer places like Spain, for example.
In the end we will return to Italy, enjoy the beautiful coldness that is Winter in a snowy climate and finally fly home sometime after the New Year 2012! I am ridiculously excited. I am sad to be missing out on Arleigh’s 1st birthday party and her first Christmas that she’ll be all interactive. But the fam have promised to Skype in. It’s a small world thanks to technology, after all.
So here we go. All systems go. Thank goodness our passports still have 2 years on them!
