Rule 3: Party Food is For Parties! #SugarFreeSuger

NO! I didn’t eat this cake. This is ANOTHER party cake.
This weekend I partied. I was a little lame really, but anyway, I had fun. It was Bec’s Hen’s Party so we went to the races then on to her friend’s house where we had some food, played some games and there was a giant bucket of fruit tingles {the drink!}. And I, going with Rule 3 decided that I would partake.
Sort of. I stuck mostly to champagne. Surprisingly low in sugar thanks to all that fermenting. Woo. I ate chicken skewers, spring rolls and the most disgusting mini topless pie ever! I avoided the sauces. Later back at the house I ate some crackers, cheese and some mini sausage rolls that tasted like the best sausage rolls ever. But that might have just been because I was REALLY hungry. So I ate all that fun stuff.
Ultimately I think my downfall came with the fruit tingle. All three giant, lemonade and generally sugar packed brightly coloured liquor filled glasses. And man, did I cop it. Combine the sugar hit after almost three weeks with VERY limited sugar and the cheap races champagne and WOW I had a headache. Super dooper, couldn’t shake it headache. Now if I was a better researcher {not a drunk one} I could tell you the cause. But alas. I cannot.
So there you go. Party Food is for Parties. And maybe, you might not want to party THAT hard. It is kind of like when I used to do free days while on Body Trim. I’d fill myself up with crap and hope that Monday I hadn’t stacked on ALL the weight back on. I think mostly I would have been fine if I had stuck to wine and skipped the fruit tingle. Or, you know, maybe not drank as much wine as I did. Haha.
But just in case don’t mix cheap champagne with sugar. It makes for a nasty headache.
Promise.

  1. I haven't had fruit tingles in a very long time! If i did i'm sure i wouldn't be able to stand after the 1st one lol

  2. Oh dear gawd, I haven't had a fruit tingle in yeeears. YUM. Now my mouth is watering… They are so good. It's a wonder your head didn't explode. So long with such little sugar then one of those!! Ouch!

  3. Ouch! How's the post-party sugar detox going?Damn that cake looks good!

  4. I can't tolerate much sugar anymore either. It feels pretty lame to have a sugar hangover.

  5. Ah the good ole fruit tingle, delicious but sneakily devastating. All the sweetness hides all the alcohol-ness and makes them VERY easy to drink…lots of them. You're not the first and I'm sure you won't be the last to be deceived by them haha at least you had fun, right?
