Lately I got back on board with the Couch to 5km program. So the the treadie and I are hanging out most days. Around ready steady cook o’clock, I turn off the TV {you know you do too, no amount of background noise is worth THAT!}, start the #c25k iPhone app and get walking/jogging. Most days this goes well. But there are days, like this one.
Days when I fall off the side and into either the couch or a wall! Or I slip off the back {stride too long}. OR I trip and fall in to the front dashboard thing. That can’t be normal. I blame my attention span. I forget what I’m doing and then the treadmill boots me off. It has turned on me. And we used to be friends. I’m shaking my head here. It’s ok if you are too.
But my love/hate relationship with household useful things doesn’t end there. Despite my current cash flow situation {limited to none} my washing machine of 10 years decided it didn’t want to be here anymore and went ahead and died. Uncooperative thing. So this morning we woke up early, Hubby and I to go to Harvey Norman to replace it. It had, after all, died Friday.
Hubby assured me they opened at 8am. So I got up and got dressed and ventured with him out into the cold. They open at 8.30. By the way. When we were allowed in we went straight to washing machines, picked the one we wanted, made sure it was in stock and picked it up.
The mission to get it from the back of the ute to the laundry was interested to say the least. I strained my back {say goodbye sky high heels for the weekend. Boooo} helping Hubby move it in. Later today I kicked my toe on the edge of it. Swore so much I scared the dog. And seriously, if the heels weren’t out before, they certainly are now… Poor toe.
And as riveting as this little tale is, it doesn’t end there. Realising the hose was dripping a little I reached out to tighten it a little only to scrape the skin off my knuckle. I mean, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH ME. Sorry. Excuse the shouting. But this is ridiculous. I am under attack. In my very own home.
Washing & walking are dangerous business people. Proceed with caution.
