Sunday ended up a huge day for us. From nothing at all REALLY planned to a jam packed day. But then, Hubby & I love that. It’s our favourite part about this stage of our lives. If we want to fill up a Sunday at Aussie World and then in Brisbane we can. Low fuss. No bother. So another time I will tell you all about Aussie World. But for now, let me tell you about the blogger lunch.
When I first heard about it I thought I’d missed something.
Hayley tweeted that me about catching up on her way through to Brissy for the meet up. But it turns out it was listed about 2 hours prior. Phew. I had almost convinced myself I wasn’t cool anymore. So I looked into what we had on. Shuffled a little stuff around. And we {Hubby too!} were on our way.
Leaving Aussie World we wanted to grab a snack. It had been ages since breakfast and a busy busy morning. So we lined up at the Aussie World cafe and grabbed a hot dog and a diet coke. Thinking, these joints always sell ridiculously small hot dogs, no worries. Lunch after 2pm. Done and done. Well, not, apparently. They were FOOT LONG HOT DOGS. Firstly, bargain. Secondly, Uh OH!
But we ate them anyway. What else could we do, leave them in the car!? Errr, no thanks. We parked, wandered into the centre, searching out the restaurant {after a few changes of venue and back again!} and did a pit stop at the nearby loos. And then, WE ARRIVED.
I immediately smiled. BIG. All my favourites {pretty much} were there. And some new faces. I said a quick hello. Received birthday girl Riley’s super sized owl from
Zoe {photos after the girt is given, promise}. Then we plonked ourselves down near the unsuspecting
Alice &
Kirsty. Umm guys, sorry about that. I talk, A LOT. And actually, so does Hubby. So we got to work introducing ourselves and talking blogging, life and business in general. I even got my camera out. Yup. Be proud.
And then, I remembered I have business cards! Total pro. Ha. So I quickly handed them out. That’s awkward, the card handing out thing. Soon after we ordered lunch. I came clean quickly about the foot long hot dogs and felt kinda silly coming to lunch and ordering a juice. Hubby however didn’t have the same worries as he ordered noodles anyway. Giant piles of noodles. I planned to pinch some and never really did.
Stupid hot dog. The juice however was to die for. I was really impressed. Soon Hubby had devoured it all and lunch was over. The math was underway for the bill totals. I suck at that. We squished together and got chatting. I however forgot to wish both our
birthday girls Happy Birthday. Fail. I had Violet for about 30 seconds before she decided being at the table sucked and that she much preferred the floor.
But I FINALLY got to talk to
Sheri. Seriously, I was so disappointed to miss the last meet and miss my chance to meet her then. We have exchanged emails starting when I put out a call for guest posts. I felt like I knew her already. Evidenced by the fact that the first thing I did was touch her hair. Which, as we all know, if a bit weird for first meetings with people. Sigh. I am such a weirdo.
And soon after parted ways with shopping on our collective minds. Hubby bought me some new shoes {all flats Dan, don’t freak out} and bras {thank goodness, things were getting UGLY!}. I think he is enjoying his reinstatement as large income earner of the family. Haha. My little manly man. I’ll get back on top, you watch!
But for now. That’s it. The end.
