A Mother’s Day Gift

Sometimes in life you are lucky to meet someone so generous they make you smile to the very middle of your stomach. Through blogging, I have.
And on Saturday night, as I was starting a sad face moment leading up to Mother’s Day, I received a text from Danielle. She asked if Hubby and I would like to join her, the girls and her Uncle, Aunt and their child on the boat they had been staying on all week.
To be honest. We hummed and haaa’ed. Dani will tell you. I text’ed back and forth so often I am pretty sure she reconsidered the invite all together. Not that she let on. Ha. We had a list of things a mile long and no one around here could tell us when we were seeing our Mum the following day. Finally we threw caution to the wind and said we’d go. And I’m so freakin’ glad we did.
It provided an awesome opportunity to just relax, lay about, take some photos and chat. Hubby did some fishing. The kids played hide and seek. Dani was an exceptional hostess. The whole family was so warm and welcoming. The perfect anecdote to a dreary and at times sad day for me. So thank you Dani and your family for welcoming us so whole heartedly.
Now go on, enjoy some of the photos from the day…

  7. totally envious – NOT that you were out on the boat but that you managed to get out and about on what can be such a sad day for so many and that a friend took the time to think about you and what a difficult day it could be for you and did something to help alleviate that sadness for the day…..i'd LOVE just one Mothers Day like that.~x~
