Write about the following topics… Ditch everything else you have or will ever write about and stick to this formula. Rigidly. It turns out, people search for them all the time. Because once, I wrote about them. Only once, and on a whim, because the thought crossed my mind. And now, they are still in my all time posts. Why? Because people are searching for them!
Here they are;
- My Family Stickers! Has to be number one. People love ’em or hate ’em.
- Blogging. It turns out when you blog about being a blogger blogging the search thingys go a little mental. Seems silly to have to read blogs to find out a blogging. But I guess that’s just the way it goes.
- FREE STUFF. Write free stuff and the world comes to your door. And so, my friends, do the spammers.
- Facebook Fan Pages. I love finding a good find on facebook pages.
- Crafty Things. Lately I have shared a few craft projects. And I have found that the people search for projects. Craft/Crafty projects.
- That it’s YOUR BIRTHDAY! Heehee. Probably flogging this one, more than once a year would get a bit suspect. But you know, good while it lasts.
- Friday. When I posted about Friday yesterday, it turns out I caught the tail end {please be the tail end!} of the Friday song Utube thing. Oh my.
- Funny Quotes. One of my first posts EVER was a post was some silly quotes. Things that made me laugh. It often, even now, gets stumbled upon by people searching out quotes.
- Zac Efrron. And you have no idea how accidental this was. I wrote the post about Dave looking like Zac Effron and all of a sudden I was Effron Central. Hardly my usual target audience. But they came in waves.
- Small girls with large round butts – This one is VERY popular apparently. A bit specific and completely off topic for this blog. Hello large girl, no butt. But yes. Huge search topic. Or that could just be my page? :oP
So there you go. The lesson to be learned here is that not all traffic is beneficial to your blog. A lot of these people clicked over and clicked away. I also get the most spam on these highly searched topics. And the most anon comments. Some nice, most not. Weigh it up.
