An unexpected friend

I went out of my way to spend some time. You were happy to wait until I had it. I won’t take that for granted. You can count on that. And I love our new found time together. I am surprised by that everyday. As we walk together, run together and I chatter on incessantly. Thanks for that. Your strong calming voice pushes me forward.
I appreciate the way you do that. Without a care for how I look or how long since I had my hair done. Unconditional. You know. We’ve been in touch in and out over the years. And now, I feel like we are really in step with each other. In tune. And nobody can dispute you are making me stronger.
You and me, my new friend Tee the Treadmill. We are going to move it. Move this fat once and for all. Grab my health with both hands. Fulfill a lifelong dream of being a runner. Week One #C25k complete. In full. No foot off the pedal. No giving in when my calves hurt. No resting half way. At 4km p/hr walk and 7km p/hr on run. Just over 2kms covered. On to week two.
My living, breathing friends, family & Hubby rule too. And are unexpected and wonderful too. Of course.
