Cool Summer Clothes

Too often when the weather is hot I just chuck the idea of being fashionable out the window. My hair frizzes, I ditch makeup in favour of tinted moisturiser with sunscreen. I scrape my hair into messy ponytails {thanks to the early point} and the feeling of too tight or too hot clothing drives me crazy.
And so, when it comes down to it, I turn to a recent’ish trend and find nothing but love and relief. Introducing my friend and yours; Maxi Dress. Plus throw in some classic summer dress styles and off you go. Simple summer dresses with not a pair of old shorts in sight.
Adore the detail on this simple white dress.
Every girl needs one white dress. Especially if it looks like this one.
A nice length, great colour and a good dose of boob-age. Perfect.
I love the ruffle detail and the fabric looks drapy and perfect for when it gets hot.
Great COLOUR too.
A beautiful maxi dress, great pattern and I love a V-neck style.
V neck again, great feature neckline and an amazing bright pattern.
Summer party, here we come!
Find these dresses at Sara by Ezibuy. I have shopped with Sara for a number of years, long before David Jones started stocking their range. Pick and choose your pieces and they can be a beautiful addition to your wardrobe.
And to complete the look, and because it is fun, I put together a quick selection of accessories. The best part about a summer dress is flats, sandals and wedges. Over sized sunnies and chuck bangles. Just a tip from me {and the experts may disagree} but if the print is bold and colourful and full on, keep your accessories simple. Don’t compete with the dress. It’s too much. this look is all simple and casual.

So when the weather gets hot what do you wear? And what do you WISH you were wearing? Go on, spill it.

  1. I adore the red dress, and the orange! But only if it was in another color! The white dress is lovely, but I would be afraid to wear it, since my skin is as white as anything and I would look like a ghost wearing it, ahaha~!Sarah is a really nice brand, they always have gorgeous clothes.

  2. I love maxi dresses, but I'm really short, and maxi dresses just look ridiculous on me- my Mum bought me a white dress last week that's almost identical to your one here, and it looks like a 1830's nightgown on me!In the heat, I like to throw on shorts and a sleeveless top, and if it's just me and my fam hanging around the house, it's a bikini. Or, I just wear long pants and throw the aircon on (cheating??)

  3. Ooooh – I love a good Maxi Dress – I have several and the thing I love most is that they hide all my 'bulges' :PBy the way – I LOVE the new look on your blog -I am a HUGE fan of Watermelon Pink and blue/green colours (just see my blog if you need proof LOL) and your use of it is wonderful!! YAY!!

  4. I'm not a dress person, but I love those two maxi dresses. And you're right about the accessories.
