I iPhone a lot!

Today a small realisation hit. I spend an awful lot of time on my phone. Checking my phone, emails, web pages, facebook, twitter and skype… A lot of time. Usually I am waiting. Sometimes I am walking. And recently the worst of the habits has started to take hold, while driving.
I joked once that I will probably die of iPhone poisoning. And if I don’t stop driving while using, it may be a little too close to home. So resolution 1 for the new year. No phone while driving. Unless it is hands-free calls only.
Is there anything that you are giving up this coming year that could change {or save} your life?

  1. Give yourself an upper cut and stop immediately! Don't wait for New Years please. Somber but true story – my cousin's boyfriend died in a single vehicle accident on Christmas Eve a few years back on his way to see her for Christmas, distracted by whatever…it aint worth it. We love you too much to be missing you for a long time, Mel. And whatever is there to be read or whatever will still be there when you've stopped.

  2. I'm iphone less. I think I really want one. But I'm a little frightened I'll never get off it and have to make my 2012 NYR the same as yours. Oh well –

  3. I have no cell phone. I expect to live an average of 5-10 years longer. However, I could not do without my laptop.

  4. Ah yes. Consider the habit quit. I almost left my phone at work I'm trying so hard not to have it within reach. Soooo dangerous. Though I still love it bad.

  5. Such a timely post. I blogged earlier this week about how I won't be getting an iPhone for Christmas because I have no self control and my husband thinks I'd disappear into cyberspace. Reading your post, I'm thinking he may be right! Good luck with the rehab. :-)

  6. Oh please never use your phone while driving! Don't you watch Oprah!? So many lives lost for something that is never really important.I'm trying to lower my cholesterol again so I have to give up the gooey yummy things I love so much *sigh*
